Vanderbilt MSN 2019

Published

Hi! I'm starting a thread for Vanderbilt MSN Fall 2019. Anyone else applying/re-applying too? Please comment!

Did everyone get an interview?

Hi there, I've just been following along but not everyone got an interview. I applied for FNP and they don't do interviews, and I believe there's one or two other specialties that don't do interviews either.

Only CNM and PMHNP applicants interview I believe. The primary care specialties do not.

I think Vandy is the only school that hasn't released decisions yet. It's my top school by far, but the wait is absolutely killing me and I had to pay my deposit for Hopkins (my #2) in case I don't get in.

The open house for accepted students is in two weeks, so airfare is going to be crazy expensive by the time decisions are released. I wish they would push it back!

The accepted students day for Vanderbilt is already set? Or are you talking Hopkins?

My first acceptance deadline (Boston College) is due March 1st and I didn't think it would be cutting it so close.... I'm just hoping they send decisions out by next week!

Oh my gosh I didn’t even think about that. First of all congratulations on Hopkins! I’m assuming you found personal benefits to Vanderbilt’s program over the other? I’m sure you’ll get into Vanderbilt if you were accepted to Johns Hopkins but that’s unfortunate you had to pay your deposit just Incase. If you don’t mind me asking how much was it? Just trying to get an idea for how much Vandy might cost. Or if anybody knows could they weigh in? I had one program tell me I had 10 days after acceptance to pay 500 to insure my spot was saved.

I didn't know there was an open house for accepted students. Is it on the website somewhere?

...or send out decisions today lol Out of curiosity why do you like Vandy over Hopkins? (I applied to Hopkins too but the 2nd deadline).

I just called. They said everyone in admissions left for the day and won’t be there over the weekend. We probably won’t hear back from them until next week :(

I hope they aren’t taking Presidents’ Day off too...
