Hi! I'm starting a thread for Vanderbilt MSN Fall 2019. Anyone else applying/re-applying too? Please comment!

The only question I have now is, do they observe Monday as a holiday?!? Because if so, it prob wont be til at least tuesday ?
As far as the other stuff/questions I saw, @ the info session I attended before applying they said they usually release decision by Feb 15, so obviously thats not happening. Those who get decisions are those who met priority deadine and then they go in order after that. So if you applied two months later, expect a response two months after the priorities. They wait until all decisions for all programs and specialties are made to release all at the same time to keep from causing chaos and the open house is for all prospective students and applicants not just those accepted.

If you check their academic calendar, Monday is not considered a holiday.

I’m assuming you found personal benefits to Vanderbilt’s program over the other? I’m sure you’ll get into Vanderbilt if you were accepted to Johns Hopkins but that’s unfortunate you had to pay your deposit just Incase. If you don’t mind me asking how much was it? Just trying to get an idea for how much Vandy might cost. Or if anybody knows could they weigh in? I had one program tell me I had 10 days after acceptance to pay 500 to insure my spot was saved.
Yes! The link to the information is below. The faculty in my PMHNP interview specifically mentioned that I should attend the open house if/when I am accepted, and that they have information sessions and panels tailored to students in each specialty.

Hopkins is a great school, but their accelerated MSN program is more expensive than Vanderbilt's and doesn't include an NP specialty. The deposit was $500, which I think is pretty typical. They gave me a few weeks to pay it, but I was accepted in early January, and JHU doesn't grant extensions.
I'm assuming that if I never got an interview for PMHNP then I'm definitely not getting in for Vandy...haha oh well. Luckily, I have Yale and Hopkins to choose from:)
The disorganization and lack of communication from Vandy this cycle has been frustrating though.
Good luck to everyone waiting to hear (on Monday, hopefully)! Either way, at least the agonizing wait is almost over.
