Published

Hey guys!

Vandy's application opens tomorrow! I am so anxious to start the application. There is a Pre-Specialty thread already started so I want to start this one for direct entry. Post questions, comments, experiences, and anything else. Good luck everyone! You've got this!

Happy New Year ? as we are getting into the final countdown, what are some activities you all are doing to stay sane until decisions are out? I feel like my life is in limbo until mid February

I am just taking it easy and working on my patho knowledge, precepting a new grad nurse at work, getting as much family time (household) as I can, and spending time on things I enjoy doing! I have a little 1.5 year old son, so I know grad school is going to affect how I manage my personal life with studies. I'm also due with my second kiddo in May ? All my peers think I'm crazy for even applying, but I am one ambitious gal haha.

Specializes in Transplant.

Hi all. Joining this thread late as I *just* decided to apply for NP school. A little about me-I've been a RN for 18 years. I got my ADN in 2003 and my BSN in 2019. I've worked in critical care/organ transplant for all 18 years and am currently the manager of organ transplant coordinators at a large multi-organ transplant center in Los Angeles. I applied for the AGACNP program and am hoping to specialize in organ transplant. I'm nervous since I applied late but hoping my experience, GPA and the fact that I want to do rotations outside of TN will help me (maybe?!). I have letters of recs from two transplant surgeons I work with (one heart/one abdominal) and hope that helps as well. Anyone else apply to the AGACNP that's been a nurse for a while? Thanks!

Megan

I just got an email about the licensure component for my state. It didn’t relate to me because I am already an RN-BSN and looking to go direct entry with their program, but it makes me think they’re really going thru the priority application pool now! ??

Good afternoon (I'm in EST timezone) everyone ?

I am wondering updated transcripts (from fall 2020 if you were taking classes) showed up on your application checklist? I mailed mine in a while ago and confirmed with my registrar that they were sent off, but my application checklist isn't reflecting that new transcripts were received.

Does anyone else have this experience? Thank you!

Mine doesn't show up on the checklist but they wrote that they received it in the "Upload Materials" section.

Gotcha. Thank you for the reply! I personally uploaded it myself and it's showing up as "other". Is this what you're referring to? Or should I contact admissions?

Thank you ?

No problem! When I emailed the admissions team about providing them with updated grades, they told me to upload my updated unofficial transcript to the upload materials section. You shouldn't have to contact them ? And yes, mine shows up as "other".
