Vanderbilt 2021 Direct Entry

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys!

Vandy's application opens tomorrow! I am so anxious to start the application. There is a Pre-Specialty thread already started so I want to start this one for direct entry. Post questions, comments, experiences, and anything else. Good luck everyone! You've got this!

Hi! Pre-specialty is all in-person I believe. The second year for direct-entry students is optional hybrid with some in class time and majority online or in person in Nashville. Some of the pre-specialty students are required to have in person classes their second year. I think it depends on specialty for them.

Thanks!

Hey guys, just wanted to share that I've been in touch with a VUSN grab who is willing to edit essays, answer admissions/NP questions etc and is SUPER helpful. I found her blog at https://sincerelyangie.blog and she has helped me a ton. She just started doing personal "appointments" too! Wanted to share in case anyone else is interested. Good luck!

Anyone get the email that says:

'Your application is complete and will be reviewed by faculty in the priority cohort. Admission decisions will be sent to the email address used on your application in the third week in February. There will not be any further updates on your application checklist until admission decisions are released.'

I think this is the official confirmation that our applications have been completed and are up for priority decisions!! Good luck, everyone!

Just popping back in. I am so excited and nervous I can hardly stand it.

Hello Everyone!

Happy Holidays!

I heard about this school a month ago and hopped onto the application process as soon as possible! I just submitted my application. I am finishing my ADN next week and my BSN by April 2021. I am so nervous because I feel as though I applied so late, even though the application was open.

Does anyone know if my application remains incomplete until my official transcripts are sent in? Im beyond nervous, yet excited for everyone here on this MSN journey!

Yes, they will generally not consider it complete until all transcripts are in. However, I missed the priority deadline just waiting for 1 transcript by snail mail and they were kind enough to push it through.

Does anyone know if you are able to change your clinical placement request for the distance option? I may be moving back home.

I made an error in my application regarding clinical placement and they allowed me to, so you should be able to as well.

Regarding transcripts, I won't be done with my BSN program until April. They said if completed work should be done before July 1st, yet results come out in Februrary?

How is everyone planning on paying for the program? That's my main concern!

I started a savings fund for just grad school ? Will use a mix of that, with loans most likely. If admitted, I’ll apply for merit scholarships and see what my work will offer, too!!
