Vanderbilt 2021 Direct Entry

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys!

Vandy's application opens tomorrow! I am so anxious to start the application. There is a Pre-Specialty thread already started so I want to start this one for direct entry. Post questions, comments, experiences, and anything else. Good luck everyone! You've got this!

Has anyone been able to select Fall 2021 for the term section on the application? It only shows "Fall 2020 (Closed)" for me.

I have been trying too. I guess its not open yet. Maybe they will open it Monday since its a business day. What are you applying for?

I emailed the [email protected] and received the following response.

During testing of the application, some problems were discovered. The technical team is working to make corrections and we anticipate that the application will open later this week. As soon as the fall 2021 application is open, we will send another email message. You should not answer application questions, have your electronic transcripts sent or request references until the fall 2021 application is open.

In the meantime, we recommend that:

MSN and PMC applicants review the admission criteria: https://nursing.vanderbilt.edu/admissions/MSN/index.php and the FAQs at https://nursing.vanderbilt.edu/MSN/faq.php

DNP applicants review admission criteria: https://nursing.vanderbilt.edu/admissions/DNP/admissions_req.php

My apologies for the inconvenience.

I just realized I was posting in the pre-specialty group haha! I'm an RN,BSN already so I want the direct entry into the MSN-AGPCNP program. Where's everyone from and what do you all do(aka what area of nursing)? I'm getting a little nervous about the application since it's been delayed. I'm going to be traveling from Oregon if all goes well!

Hey guys,

Is there anyone who knows about modified distance learning format at the MSN program?

I currently live in CA and am wondering if I'm able to complete the program without relocating. I think students living out of state should come to the campus during the program. But can't find the details like how often & how long..

I've tried to get the info and the websites confuse me.

For the MSN specialties that are direct entry, it seems like that on-campus time is done in 3-5 day blocks that are 4x in the fall, 3x in the Spring and 2x in the Summer. In prior years, it would show what the dates were but I think that's not available for 2021.

kcheck5, Thank you so much for the info! (I don't know how to reply, by the way?.)

That's a lot to travel. I should reconsider...

Hello everyone! I am so nervous and excited to start my application! I am coming in with a bachelor's in Psychology and am currently finishing up my prereqs. I have a few questions for the masses. I wonder, is it better to have 2 professional, 1 professor referrals or 1 professional, 2 professor referrals? Also, who do you all have reviewing your applications? When I was applying for undergrad, I had high school counselors who walked me through the process. Of course, I can complete the application and gather the materials myself, but I would love a proofreader. Lastly, I see that a GRE is not required, but is the TEAS a requirement? Is that something we do after we are accepted?

Good luck on the application process and I hope to see everyone in the classroom Fall 2021!!
