Hi AllNurses Universe,
I'm thrilled to announce that I have been accepted to the Direct Entry MSN program for ACNP-Intensivist this fall! Is anyone else out there?
Congrats to everyone who was accepted to Vanderbilt! I was accepted to the Nurse-Midwifery program for Fall 2011! For those of you who haven't heard yet, I would think it would be soon. Unfortunately for us, Vanderbilt doesn't send out all letters at the same time, but does rolling admissions. I received my letter on Feb 21st, but it seems as if letters are still going out. I just wish we could get all of our Financial Aid information earlier than April. I want to know just how much this is going to cost me.
I look forward to meeting all of you in August!
I finally received my letter yesterday. I actually received an email a few days ago about housing options before I received my decision letter. The email started with, "Congratulations." My decision letter offered me a seamless transition into the DNP program without the need for application into the DNP program. Did anyone else receive this offer? What are your thoughts about the DNP program?
I am so excited about having the opportunity to attend Vanderbilt! I hopefully will have the chance to meet you all. My letter said that student orientation is August 23-24. I wonder if that is for all specialties?
At any rate, Congratulations to all!
The wait has been eating away at me since the 1st of March. I applied to the Psych NP program. I was told that the spots were very limited, but the woman I spoke with told me I was definitely not rejected. So, I have been waiting to see if I'm in or wait-listed. I'm still terrified though.
Hi, I'm new to this site so forgive me if I don't do this right. I too attended the open house this month. I'm applying for direct entry to the ACNP Intensivist tract program. Can those who have been accepted into the program share their GPA, GRE and experience data? I'm a RN with 7 yrs ICU experience and CCRN certification. I'll graduate with my BSN in May. I'm on the dean's list and I finished my ADN program with a 3.5 as well. I'm scheduled to take the GRE next month.
I spoke to someone in admissions who told me there are still spots available for ACNP direct entry students. I'm just wondering what my chances for admission are. Thanks for the help:)!
Hey All,
I am applying for the prespecialty for Vanderbilt for either the FNP or the PMHNP. I have a BS in Psychology and a ME.d in Education. I have gone through all of the posts on GPA and GRE scores and they just confuse me. I have a 3.4 cumulative GPA and work experience with low income families, who I want to continue to work with after I get my NP. Do those who got in think I have a good chance? I was told that since I have a Masters degree I don't have to take the GRE, however, if I choose not to take it they only award me the minimum for this requirement. Should I take the GRE? Obviously, I don't want to, but will if necessary. Any advise, information, or suggestions from those of you who got accepted would be very appreciated. Thank you all for being so open with the information you share. It really helps those of us that are nervous about getting in.
Hi got accepted the other day for PMHNP direct entry. My grades were pretty good. 3.8/Grad; 3.5/BSN. GRE waived due to masters; Nurse 7yrs. I think it depends because they look at the whole person concept. Just because you have good grades does not mean that you will make an awesome NP.For those who are already RN's you have a far better chance of getting into Direct entry especially if you are at distance. Rob I would not take the GRE if I didn't have to. I was nervous as heck but I prayed and it all went well. I will continue to pray for all of you. If you have any questions in-box me.

Got my acceptance letter today for ANP/WHNP!!!!! So excited!!
I ask the same question about going to Vanderbilt over another school that is much cheaper. I love Vanderbilt - the only thing that would keep me from going is cost. I would love to hear replies :)
