Valencia Nursing Program for Summer 2015

I can't believe that after I finished my pre reqs and took my teas test and passed it, I had to wait almost 4 months just to get an idea of this waiting list. I thought they forgot about me and was panicking lol. I was even thinking if my application went thru or not. Well finally on june 5th, I received my acceptance letter stating that I will start in May (Summer 2015). Anyone else out there too? Im sure they say one can be bumped up earlier than that. Another question, all the things required in that breakdown of things u need to purchase for nursing 1, (watch with second hand, stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, 2 calculators) does all that come in a bundle or do we have to go get these things individually?

I am very excited/nervous. Everyone that I come in contact with is telling me that this is the hardest thing they've ever done. Yeap I feel so much better lol. I wish I had a head start of the material nursing term 1 because I do not want to be lost. Anyone knows what topics it consist of? By the way im new on here! First post :-D hope to make new friends that are going thru the same and possibly classmates.

Yes its more intimate to be in the nursing program in the Osceola campus im just not too sure about the teachers im sooo scared. And what do u mean by scrubs? Like the white uniform? I think its the same as ours just more masculine.

How would I identify you when we start you are my first friend I met lol

Oh! I was the asian guy in the orientation with medium length hair LOL! I was actually looking around a little bit during the orientation and looking for you based on the picture you have here. You're not the one in blue scrubs by the aisle right? Anyway, hope to see you in the second semester I guess, I actually said the incorrect color, I was able to get in to Silver =( Check the link above, it might make you a little less anxious about osceola campus.

No I wasnt in scrubs I had puffed curly hair dressed professional..im a brown girl fyi lmao! And wow thanks for the link above! That made me feel so much better. Too bad we wont be together but hey goodluck! You will do great.

Sorry about that Im not good at recognizing people haha! We'll do great in the first semester then we'll say hi in person in the second semester. If Im not mistaken they said during the second semester onward everyone will be in West campus. Your other professor I could not find, same as the Silver class, one of them have really good reviews while the other can not be found. Lucky for those who are in Red, both professors were rated highly. Goodluck!

Hey Xtian sorry to bother, but I misplaced some papers. Do u happen to know the chapters and of which book they told us to get ahead and start reading? I know they mentioned 2 books as well.

Hi, yes, Fundamentals book - chapter 9, 26, 31, 33. Mental health book - chapter 6.

Hope I got those right.

BTW, do you happen to remember what we're supposed to do with the nursing math quick study guide?

Thank u! Did u purchase the books already?I dont recall them saying anuthing about that just to go over what we learned in college algebra and simple math set ups for dosage. You know what we are 20 days away from starting and they are not sending syllabus or any other info. I think they should cuz this is a big deal. Ive heard nothing! Welcome! No I am running behind with those things, I still need to buy the stethoscope, lab kit (?), books, even the all-white shoes lol!

I recently just filled up the fafsa form, anyone knows how it works? Do we contact the school or do we wait for an email or something? I am 100% sure I will receive zero grants but just want to see options such as loans...

The bad thing is that you are doing it last minute since the payment is due the 15th this month. When u filled it out it sorta tells u how much approx you can receive from them and if ur eligible. About the email, u will receive an email from valencia about your status. I once to a loan out from them and they gave me like $3,089. They start charging after you finish school and do a monthly pmt. Theres no late fees or anything. Not that bad.

Check your Atlas account and your Valencia email account. There is a sectin dealing with FI, just click and see what it says for you. It should show up in a week or so. You might need to turn in other paper work, etc. This last minute might mean you will have to find another way to pay for it this term. A school year is 3 terms, and they only pay for 2 terms. So you can use it for your spring and summer term. If It does, remember to save enough to pay for your summer term.
