I can't believe that after I finished my pre reqs and took my teas test and passed it, I had to wait almost 4 months just to get an idea of this waiting list. I thought they forgot about me and was panicking lol. I was even thinking if my application went thru or not. Well finally on june 5th, I received my acceptance letter stating that I will start in May (Summer 2015). Anyone else out there too? Im sure they say one can be bumped up earlier than that. Another question, all the things required in that breakdown of things u need to purchase for nursing 1, (watch with second hand, stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, 2 calculators) does all that come in a bundle or do we have to go get these things individually?

I am very excited/nervous. Everyone that I come in contact with is telling me that this is the hardest thing they've ever done. Yeap I feel so much better lol. I wish I had a head start of the material nursing term 1 because I do not want to be lost. Anyone knows what topics it consist of? By the way im new on here! First post :-D hope to make new friends that are going thru the same and possibly classmates.

I got confirmation just now! Before was a letter saying I have a chance to start early but since I replied and confirmed I can start they just sent me a letter im so happy. It says that orientation is friday july 18th!

No I will find about all this on Friday. And about the background and drug test I havent done any of these things they will let us know on orientation which is this friday coming up

Yep, I know that there isn't anything I can do. I just thought it was funny and glad you gave me a heads up. I would have freaked if I had not heard anything by week 12. I'm worried something might go wrong. And now I know to watch for a letter. I was expecting e-mail.

Oh hunny it is an email, your atlas email, so check it frequently. They dont send any heads up by mail. And no problem thats what forums are for. Good job u are doing research. Good luck in everything you do!

Oh, that leaves a short time to get all of it done. I thought it came in the letter. I can now understand why some would turn down the chance to start early if they don't have the money saved up to pay for all that. I kept money in my "Higher One" account to pay for it all.

Btw, the amount of requirements to start the program made me panic, hope to get lots of helpfull info this friday.

How was orientation?

Hi! It was pretty cool. Lots of info of what things need to get done before we enter the program. Like gettin our background check, fingerprints, getting our cpr certification. Info on thise things. I just did my cpr cert. yesterday. They talked about our uniforms, texts book not available in bookstore yet, neither the lab kit. Ordered my name tag there tho. I learned since 120 students gets accepted they get split in 3 groups. So 40 ppl in each class. Class starts in aug 25th. :) so whats your status?

Just reached the 6 week mark. Still have weeks to go before I find out anything. I figure they are busy getting ready for classes to start right now. I just noticed that on one of the Atlas pages, it doesn't show that i have been listed as nursing since 2012, and has me listed as 2014. Which could cause them to deny me. It's on the "My Education Plan" page. So now I am really worried and stressed that everything will not go right.

I guess that means your getting new books. How soon do you need your uniforms? How pricey?

No I have been listed as pending nursing for a while and yesterday they finally updated my profile and says nursing for fall 2014. Dont freak out. Uniform is a bit pricey yea. U need 2 types of uniforms. One white one, top and bottom with Valencia embroided on them and that costed $55. Then other uniform is blue polo shirt that says valencia on the corner and each polo is $30. Not cheap. That one is worn with khakis.
