Valencia Nursing Program for Summer 2015

I can't believe that after I finished my pre reqs and took my teas test and passed it, I had to wait almost 4 months just to get an idea of this waiting list. I thought they forgot about me and was panicking lol. I was even thinking if my application went thru or not. Well finally on june 5th, I received my acceptance letter stating that I will start in May (Summer 2015). Anyone else out there too? Im sure they say one can be bumped up earlier than that. Another question, all the things required in that breakdown of things u need to purchase for nursing 1, (watch with second hand, stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, 2 calculators) does all that come in a bundle or do we have to go get these things individually?

I am very excited/nervous. Everyone that I come in contact with is telling me that this is the hardest thing they've ever done. Yeap I feel so much better lol. I wish I had a head start of the material nursing term 1 because I do not want to be lost. Anyone knows what topics it consist of? By the way im new on here! First post :-D hope to make new friends that are going thru the same and possibly classmates.

You will need the code for your Fundamentals of Nursing book. Read Chapters (31, 33, 29, 30) First. Read them at least once, and mainly study the boxes. If you have time after that, (32, 44, 9, 15, 26, 10 -14, 36) All of those are what was on Spring 15 first test. Get use to only have time to read the chapter once. Also, they change things up. Which means, what they did for the spring, might be what you get. Either way, you will cover those chapters at some point this term, so it will not be a waste and because of the fast pace, you will be glad your a little ahead. Good Luck! OH, we formed a facebook group and passed out the information to it on the first day. One of you guys might want to do that. WE had 3 groups, and it was nice to be able to share and ask questions quickly. Life saver!

Could anyone tell me what the schedule is like during the week in the summer term??

It would probably be just like other terms but they could change it a bit. Lecture on Mon and Wed 9:00am-12:30pm and lab on Tues and Thurs 9:00am-4:00pm. Just a heads up; taking any Nursing course at Valencia in the Summer is gonna be intense! Hope this helps.
