Valencia Nursing Program for Summer 2015

I can't believe that after I finished my pre reqs and took my teas test and passed it, I had to wait almost 4 months just to get an idea of this waiting list. I thought they forgot about me and was panicking lol. I was even thinking if my application went thru or not. Well finally on june 5th, I received my acceptance letter stating that I will start in May (Summer 2015). Anyone else out there too? Im sure they say one can be bumped up earlier than that. Another question, all the things required in that breakdown of things u need to purchase for nursing 1, (watch with second hand, stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, 2 calculators) does all that come in a bundle or do we have to go get these things individually?

I am very excited/nervous. Everyone that I come in contact with is telling me that this is the hardest thing they've ever done. Yeap I feel so much better lol. I wish I had a head start of the material nursing term 1 because I do not want to be lost. Anyone knows what topics it consist of? By the way im new on here! First post :-D hope to make new friends that are going thru the same and possibly classmates.

Thanks Kayrox and Spangle, I recently checked around the atlas website. I'm expecting I wont receive any grants since this is a second degree but I am waiting for the stafford loan offer which will a good safety net seeing as I wont work at all. When I applied in Herzing last year, they were quick to offer it, like within 3 days lol; (btw, thank god I backed out from their rn program). I will wait valencia til next week and contact them maybe 1 or 2 days before fee deadline.

Hey this is my second degree too tho! All u have to do is appeal and show that you have proof of what happened that ur taken all these classes and show that you are serious about ur path. I had to do an appeal and im waiting on their response.

Yea I bought the books, the ones with access codes bought it in valencia book store. The rest in amazon. Way cheaper.still spent a lot of money.

Thanks for all the important information, I met with an advisor to appeal and she said it takes 4 to 6 weeks lol! I'll go to the West campus to buy the books that has access codes only (purchase lab kit as well) then buy the rest somewhere that will issue a receipt. Program starts in 2 weeks so goodluck to us! ^_^

I tried to buy the lab kit and they said it will be available a week before class starts or the first week of school. Either one. And the lady told me the price might go up. How rude >:|

Ill drop by west campus this coming monday or tuesday to buy some of the books and the labkit. I checked the professors for osceola (gold) and my class (silver) in west, both have the same professor. Professor Dial and Professor Wight. isnt that strange? Anyway, both of them have great reviews =)

I see why i couldnt find her! Her name is shortened when you are looking her up. Its sharalyn but its in rate my professor its shari. lol Thanks for the info. I am very confused I really hope i have both marci and shari. Maybe things will change if we both have the same teachers :S
