I'm in NY. Wonder how other NURSES are feeling about mandatory COVID vaccination?

Im empowering people to have data to make their own decisions. Anyway's I am retiring from this thread. I would like to leave with a good note though which I think everyone can appreciate.

Covid Updates: South Africa Says Its Omicron Wave Has Passed With No Big Spike in Deaths

The announcement offers cautious hope to other countries grappling with the fast-spreading variant. The U.S. hits yet another record for new daily virus cases.

What kind of health care provider would advise a patient NOT to take the vaccine? How many providers would a person have to see before they found the 1 quack?

OK see that proves my point. People like you who lack the sophistication to interpret data should not be mandating vaccines

I suppose the irony of YOU, of all people saying this is totally lost on you?

I mean you've proven that you aren't even capable to determining when you are and are not involved in a debate.

You are encouraging people to look for a reason not to get vaccinated.  With very rare exception, there is NO ONE that should not be vaccinated.  They are holding the hospitals hostage.  You do understand the concept of peeing in the pool?:)

The screen name you are referencing is is doing so by driving the conversation.  None of what is being debating here is debatable by professionals.  Facts and logic are not relevant, and just broaden the platform.

So what?  Many nurses had to work covid positive early on in the pandemic as long as they felt well enough.  But they had to use PPE.  If we didn't allow asymptomatic people to work, who would be available to do anything because it's going to be hard to escape this virus and most people might not even be aware they have it.

Maybe if you didn't fire your nurses for not being vaccinated you would have enough nurses to treat patients. Here in my state and facility we have plenty of nurses and all patients are being treated and not in tents. It sounds like your state and facility has a logistic/planning problem.

Our nursing staff is 98% vaccinated.  They aren't leaving because of a mandate (which the hospital has), they are leaving because they have become  exhausted from taking care of the unvaccinated.  How many 12's can a person work in a row?  We don't have a logistical problem; we have a positivity with illness problem.  We have a problem with the unvaccinated patients who are using up the resources.  The thing speaks for itself.  It's unethical for nurses to promote vaccine hesitancy.

100% fake news. The health system I work for has over 12,000 employees. Less than 100 chose to quite rather than be vaccinated. Zero were physicians, and only one was an RN and he is just plain awful and they were building a case to fire him for incompetence anyway. Now instead of being the loser fired for being incompetent and immune to retraining, he gets to crow about being a victim on his social media, and he is. He had already been removed from patient care and was handing out masks at the main entrance.

MY bet is that it's a similar situation at other hospitals.

Indeed, I find your opinion of those vital people to be shocking. Those of us who work bedside are super aware of just how valuable and vital they are.

I can't imagine how you could have formed such a low opinion of them or why you believe them to be "lowly" and "ignorant".

I know, that was the reason for my post. As if just because only RNs and physicians didn't leave does not mean that any hospital can survive without the support staff  that possibly did leave because of mandate.
