100% Vaccination compliance and classroom first aid kits

I hate both of these.

While, when it is all said and done, all 3 of my campuses WILL BE 100% compliant on the vaccination forefront, I still despise having to chase them down. Really guys. Vaccinations for school participation IS NOT A NEW THING. Get your stuff together

Also, how many of you make individual first aid "kits" for EVERY SINGLE TEACHER? The nurse before me did this when our school was much smaller (I'm talking like 60 teachers for all 3 of our campuses). But, we're growing pretty rapidly and they are still expecting me to do this every year. I simply don't have the supplies, time, nor desire to continue this as our school continues to grow. Expectations are stupid!

Ok. Rant over. I'm clearly feeling underappreciated and overwhelmed right now with my tasks at hand! HA! I hope everyone else is having a good Tuesday!!

I am so happy for y'all. We have an ever-enrolling, ever-challenging group of kiddos on the catch-up schedule/ who are eligible for McKinney-Vento Act but as of this moment 100%! Tomorrow someone will be due.

I get new students daily right now as well. So...the quest continues.

bought cheap baggies, and took from my supplies, 1 pair of gloves, 3 cotton rolls, 3 applicator sticks, 2 packs of alcohol pads, 10 bandaids, 3 gauze and 3 cotton balls. Made 38, and a google sheet for refills, and boom got things done.

Although I only have 17 teachers in my school, I order first aid kits that's come fully stocked from our supply company. Then when they run out of supplies, it's their responsibility to come to my office to re-stock. I only provide bandaids, alcohol prep pads, bacitracin foil packets, a pair of gloves, and 1 disposable ice pack when they come to fill the kit. And i'm only giving them a small handful of supplies. Not a whole box of bandaids or a million prep pads. And by taking the time to restock their kit, it saves me time from dealing with silly things so i can manage the bigger emergencies or mounds of paperwork

I could give my staff all the supplies in the world and they would not ever touch them!!!

I have one provisional left because I have terrific admin support. I hope she never leaves. I give each class a box of gloves and a box of band aids. They send the kids down when they run low. I did the kits last year and no one used them. Good luck!

My teachers get what they ask for. Usually just bandaids. Of course, I'm in a high school so I keep a bowl of bandaids on my desk and have peroxide, A&D ointment, contact lens solution and gauze on my table. If it is a paper cut or just putting ointment on a new tattoo or cleaning a belly button ring, it is self serve in my office. I only deal with actual injuries.

two children not in compliance. one needed to get kinder vaccines- owed me a dtp, polio, mmr- got the dtp and mmr and something else that was nice to get but not what was required. Now has to wait 30 days before getting the polio because of getting the mmr.

the other is waiting on the clinic to get menactra. wasn't aware of a shortage, but i think it's a special medicaid funded order they were waiting on. Either way - doctor is holding both up.

I basically just gave them a baggie with some stuff and told them if they need more or w.e, just let me know.
