Didn't see a forum regarding the VA Palo Alto New Grad Program that's supposed to start in July. I heard decisions are supposed to be solidified mid-April, so I was wondering if anyone heard back yet for interviews, etc?

I just sent out an email, asking if I should disregard the calendar that was sent out regarding classroom times/onboarding orientation (since my start date was supposedly changed to the 31st), but now they are saying I should disregard that email bc HR messed up. I am very very confused LOL
anyone receive a "sponsorship complete" email, saying they have to get their photo and fingerprints done? I guess I was a bit confused, since I know we already had to get our fingerprints done long ago. maybe this is a separate thing hmm...like maybe for our badge? o:

I received that email as well! I think its a different thing since the fingerprints were for our background check. I'm just wondering if we need to complete it asap or something. I saw that the Mountain View location only has appts in Sept and other locations like in SF have a lot of slots for July, but I'm not sure if we can go to those locations LOL. I thought we would be doing this on Monday but I guess not ?

I was also wondering if we need to complete it asap...bc of that, I actually scheduled an appt for tmro in SF LMAO...I too, thought we would be doing this on Monday as well. also, did you receive what shift you are going to be working (like day/night shift)? I thought this was gonna be in the offer email, but I guess not hmm..more waiting LOL

Did you schedule it at the SF VA? I didn't see any appts for tomorrow, so I scheduled mine in 2 weeks. My unit manager emailed me my schedule for the next few weeks and I'm starting as day shift!
I'm hoping to apply for the November 2023 cohort and I am wondering if any of you July cohort applicants were not BLS or ACLS certified? In the application checklist it says they are recommended but not required. My BLS has expired since graduating and I'm wondering if I should renew it before I apply or possibly even do my ACLS. However, if people got offers without being certified or if the VA will offer/pay for the training I'd prefer to hold off.

I have both, I would get both of them before applying to up your chances!

Wondering if you went to the appointment? If so what was it for? How did it go?

Hi there. I'm interested in eventually working for the VA. Could you please tell me exactly what the physical was like? Is it just fill out forms and they see if you can reach and grab and lift? Or are you in a hospital gown and they're actually doing a complete head-to-toe physical?
Every place is so different when it comes to these things......
