VA HPSP 2021

Hello!

I was just curious - has anyone else applied to for the VA HPSP scholarship this year? Specifically, the PMHNP track!

Hii do you mind sharing the process after submitting the application? What are the different status of the application?

Hi PinkFreud,

Who did you get to do your academic verification? I think we’re in the same program. The person from Vanderbilt who said they would do my academic verification never did (back in April). Now it’s August and I think there’s slim chance of me getting this scholarship but I was just curious. I didn’t want to be pushy but it’s been 4 months and looks like I missed the application window but maybe I’ll be considered for Spring?

Hello Everyone!!

**fingers crossed** I just submitted my packet on July 29th. It was sent back twice due to errors in the academic verification and was finally accepted on August 5th.  I'm really hoping to hear back soon ?

I just checked my application, and it says "Application Packet Scored." Does anyone know what that means? I'm hoping for some good news, LOL

Checked mine today it says "Alternate ". I am worried cuz I really need this scholarship .School has started. I am a PMHNP  hopeful

I just logged in and saw that I am an alternate too! Has anyone who had alternate status gotten off the list so far? If so, how long did it take? I emailed and they said that they will reassess before Spring 2022, which seems like a long time to wait ?

I also received alternate status! But, I only have 2 semesters left after this Fall, so if they only give it for those two to me it might not even be worth it to me

I was placed on the alternative list as well. I emailed one of the specialists and was told, "It just means that you have not been selected at this point, but you will get an update by late October for a potential scholarship starting Spring 2022". I read the comments early in this post, and I saw that some were placed on the alternative list and later were taking off and giving the scholarship. I'm hoping that's the case for us as well.

I was placed on the alternate list mid July, emailed the specialist and said they might consider me for Spring, in a few days, I was offered the scholarship for fall. Praying for you guys! Keep checking everyday!

No problems! Just keep checking the portal every day/every other day! They told me they'd potentially consider me for Spring, but I got the offer for Fall!

I think there should be a contact us page on the VA. I emailed the program director and specialist. I tried to include their names here but was edited out by the admins before.
