UWOSH Accelerated Nursing May 2016 Cohort

Published

Hi guys. Wanted to start a topic/thread for those applying into the May 2016 cohort, now that the application has opened. Has anyone else noticed on the application that the 2 recommendations are no longer required? Thought this was interesting.

As for me, I'm getting ready to take the TEAS V (Aug 1st) and finishing my CNA course next week with the state exam in August. I have a few months of CNA experience in a long term adult care facility and just got a job as a CNA at a local pediatric long term care facility, which I'm looking forward to since this is the area of nursing I hope to focus on after graduating (peds.) I graduated from the Univ of Pittsburgh back in 2001 with a dual BS in Psych and Business and did most of my post bach work in clinical psych (inpatient, outpatient, step down, peds again..) Applied and was accepted to PA school back in 2002 but decided that being a PA wasn't exactly what I wanted to do so waited, got married, had kids yada yada. Here I am, mid 30s, 2 young boys, applying into UWOSH. How about you? Say hi and introduce yourself so we can get to know one another during this ride. :) :)

Wonderful news!! I knew you would snwbal. When is it?

I requested times on 11/5/15 and 11/6/15. Since I'm in Oregon the time options are great because I can either have it before work or on my lunch period. Good luck to everyone!

Wonderful snwbal!!

Good luck today Aje! Hope it's a great conversation with UWOSH! :)

Let us know how it goes for you and I'll do the same.

I hope this morning goes great for you guys! Wishing you the best!

Thanks for luck!

They actually called me about 25 minutes early. Did they call you early Grenledgal? Apparently they had a person cancel.

The interview went well! They were very nice and it wasn't too bad. It lasted right at a half hour for me.

They did say they are hoping to make decisions by late November so that is exciting!

How did it go for you Grenledgal?

Thanks for luck!

That's awesome! Punctuality is always nice, especially when it's expected of the applicant.

Did they ask interview type questions or was it more of a get to know you experience? Any information on a follow-up online interview?

That's super exciting that they plan to make decisions soon this year!

Thanks for luck!

They didn't call! I waited an hour and a half... Wonder what happened?

Glad it was a great call for you Aje. Hopefully I get to talk to them soon. I was so ready, and waiting..

Uh oh Greledgal! You should email the assistant to see what happened! That is really strange since they called me around the time they would have been calling you!

Snwbal, some standard questions and some interesting ones. They specifically said not to discuss the interview questions with other applicants or potential applicants. So I thought that was interesting. They did not mention follow up interviews, just mentioned now it would be a waiting game.

So there was a mixup with the files because one of the interviews called in sick. So im rescheduled for Thursday afternoon. All good!

Oh good! I am so glad!

Me too Aje. I figured something happened with the schedule. It's a bummer to have to wait, but not a big deal. These things happen!

I'm glad to hear they were nice to talk with and you feel like it went well. Was it with one person or a group?

Now you just wait and see! (at least it's only around a month this cohort instead of into December!) Great news. :)
