Hi future nurses ?
I have started to submit materials to all of the schools that I am applying to this year (yippie!) and saw that the University of Washington's BSN program application opened today.
I thought it might be fun to start a thread for this cohort of applicants for questions, comments, worries, etc.
I am a post-bacc student with a sub-par GPA (3.1 undergrad in Sociology with a 3.6 pre-requisite GPA). I previously earned my CNA license in another state, and I am hoping to get it reinstated in Washington here in the next couple of weeks... and hopefully get some CNA work experience.
I'd love to hear from anyone about their application experiences with UW in the past!
Let's chat ?
Hi, friends!
Congratulations to everyone who got accepted and/or is on the waitlist ?
I initially started this thread because I was dead-set on applying to UW, but I was accepted into an Accelerated BSN program in Columbus and I actually just moved all the way to Ohio! I'll be starting my program in August, and if anyone has a desire or is willing to move out of state, my program has rolling admission and it is MUCH less competitive. They have a high NCLEX pass rate, and 2 different accelerated options (one is 18 months and one is 13 months). If anyone is interested I'd be happy to share more info.
Good luck! Keep your heads up, you can all do this!
Cheers,
Cassidy
(sorry for replying so late to the thread)
Am waitlisted... just waiting for them to upload the portal link with the intent of remaining on the waitlist.
I am # 39 on waitlist. Applied as a Transfer out-of-state student, have 4 years of experience as a CNA, had a year volunteer experience at UCSD Health hospital, a 3.8 overall GPA with an Associates of Science, did some peer mentorship work for a year as well.
Wishing everyone the best, and hope to meet some of you future nurses one day ?

Well said Cassidy!!
One of my best decisions was to look at other Nursing programs outside of UW. Once you pass the NCLEX no one really cares where you went to school for your BSN.

I was just informed, from a close relative that owns a paramedic company, there is still open enrollment for Baker University BSN program. Apply to that school if your willing to go out of state.
Know your worth and keep up a fight. Just a thought for those in need.
