Hey guys !

I'm applying and I'm really nervous, but excited to start my nursing program soon. Anyone else applying to UW?

I also got an invite! I hope to see most (or all) of you there!

I'm so glad I found this thread! Never knew something like this existed.

I received my email today too!

This is my second time applying. Last year, I did not receive an invitation to the proctored essay.

Does anyone know how the acceptance letter looks like? Obviously its going to be in an envelope... but is it those letter size envelopes?

Rejection letter is a very thin envelope.

We actually had a former PhD nursing student from UW at my college and he said that the acceptance envelope is quite small whereas the rejection one is thick.

If you read previous year's threads they say it's pretty thin if you're accepted...

Got the invite! See you all there :)

Hi landij,

can I ask you what kinds of scenarios that they gave on the proctored essay? And was there any math problem?

i am asked to write the proctored essay next week.

Thanks

Hi,

do you remember an example of math or chem problem on the proctored essay?

I got the invite to come do the proctor essay this upcoming Wednesday! I'm really glad I found this forum. I figured the more involved I get with people who are in the same situation as me, the more confident I will be.

I'm super nervous for this writing portion....I hope it wont be too bad.

Welcome new future BSN students! I have found it very useful to go back to the 2014 thread for the UW nursing application process. You can follow people from start to finish and see what they were talking about. The threads describe the essay as well as the math questions. In previous cohorts, the essay allowed you to chose one of three patient scenarios to write two pages about. There have been three math questions that are basic formulas similar to chemistry and conversions (i.e.. 50 mg of drug ordered, the drug comes in 25 mg tablets, how many tablets would you give the patient= 2 tablets) This is my understanding of the proctored essay anyhow. It's my first time so don't take my word for it, look over the 2014 thread and there is great info in this one from current students as well!

Good luck!
