  1. @Cloudy T , I have been attending information sessions for this program for several years, and this is my first year applying. I have been gradually checking off prereqs for the last couple years and I put a lot into getting a great GPA. However, they really emphasize that they are not looking for a perfect GPA, but rather one that shows consistency/improvement. The part that I needed to focus on the most was gaining experience. I had a good time volunteering in an emergency room, but the single best thing I did was work as a CNA. Not only do CNAs make strong candidates for their program, but working in this capacity is extremely informative for someone trying to figure out if nursing is right for them. Plus, I can't imagine a better way to develop a working relationship with an RN who can ultimately write your letter of rec. Hope that helps! Good luck!
  2. I got my acceptance letter yesterday! Feeling very grateful. If this isn't your year don't give up! If nursing is what you want to do, you can do it! It's my understanding that those who are denied can contact the SoN to receive feedback about what part(s) of the application need improvement for next time. For those who are accepted, UWSON will create a forum and an email listserv for our class. Perhaps we can introduce a Facebook group at that point, when we know who's actually in the our cohort and can talk about who may be interested in creating/moderating the group.
  3. I doubt they will go out so late, because according to this page on their website, BSN admits for 2015 need to submit their "intent to register" form by 4/17. This would be impossible if they waited that long to notify accepted students. May we all receive good news soon!
  4. I was hoping to get something in the mail today, but alas, no luck. Hopefully next week...
  5. Got the invite! See you all there :)
  6. Hi fine folks! I have been lurking on this thread for a while and finally decided to jump in and say hi. I am also a BSN applicant waiting anxiously to hear back about the proctored essay. Meanwhile, I am finishing up the UW general app. I live in Seattle, so I think I am going to hand-deliver my transcripts to admissions tomorrow. I will be so happy to be done with all this stuff! I wish you all the best of luck. Hopefully we'll be classmates at UW next Fall!
