UW BSN program 2015

Hey guys !

I'm applying and I'm really nervous, but excited to start my nursing program soon. Anyone else applying to UW?

Featured Replies

I've applied to the ABSN. Sent in my paper application a week ago. Now to wait for the essay on the 21st.

Awesome, have you attended UW before?

I have not. It feels like a great university to be a part of, though. I'm eager to see how it will turn out. Are you a former UW student?

Definitely, it is ranked one of the best nursing schools in the US! I am trying my best to get accepted into their BSN program (fingers crossed).

I am not a UW student, I am from Texas actually, but I'll be moving to Redmond WA in December so I am applying to schools around that area.

Hello, Rococo!

I am also applying to the BSN program at UW. Are you still working on your application?

Hi,

I have started my application but I haven't finished it. I want to send it by the end of this semester so I have the last set of prerequisites ready. What about you?

I might sound silly but, I'm still working on my essay! I feel a lot of pressure to get accepted at UW

I also have not finished my application yet. Currently I am focusing on the essay. I won't be done with my prereqs until Summer quarter (I know, very torturous). Are you applying anywhere else?

At least you'll have them finished before the program starts. I too have to take organic chemistry in summer if I get accepted at UW  I feel like the essay is the hardest part of the application! I have put so much time and effort in making great.

I will be applying to SPU and SU as well. I'm just waiting for Seattle Pacific to make their application available. I have completed my SU application already..we'll see how that goes. I'm just really putting so much attention on getting into UW.

Are you applying anywhere else?

I am applying to PLU. I was originally aiming for SU as well but because I wont have my pre-reqs done until summer, I am not eligible for Fall quarter. What are your qualifications? If you don't mind me asking. I am surprised there are not as many people on here opposed to previous years. I stalked this page last year quite a lot and there were way more participants! I agree with you on the essay. Every time I sit down to write it, I feel like I am forgetting to add crucial details or its just not good enough.

Not at all :) I will have a little over 100 hrs of volunteer work at a Children's Hospital, NICU dept.

Community service with City Fruit, basically talking to community at a summer festival. As well as volunteering at the Discovery shop, for the Cancer Society of America.

3.45 GPA (not so great) I also have experience with pressure ulcers since my dad is a quadriplegic.

I STILL feel like I can do better but I have a family, a two year old and a wonderful husband.

How is you're resume looking?

Same here! I read last year's post and a lot of people replied so I thought I would write one for 2015, since I'm applying :p and I feel like it's nice to share the experience with students going through the same process. Ask questions and what not..

Hello!

I moved to Seattle this summer from Alaska and am pretty excited about being so close to the schools. I'm about to start working again as a CNA down here.

I just submitted the ABSN application today. What a relief! Just waiting for the proctored essay next week now. Shouldn't be too bad. Does anyone know what they ask about on the essay? I've gleaned a few insights from previous year posts, but I was wondering what other people could share.

I'm also applying to the ELMSN program at PLU. I saw someone talking about that earlier in this thread. Either program would provide such a wonderful opportunity!

Yes, I agree! Its definitely nice having other people who are going through the same process. Dont doubt yourself! As long as you try your best, its honestly all that matters. I currently have a 3.98 with Honors. However, I still need to take A&P and microbio so that might drop haha. I am the vice president for PTK and a part of the Honors Leadership team. I have also participated in Conversation Pals which is basically learning about diversity and other cultures in student lead groups. As far as community involvement work goes, I tutored at a local library and packaged food at Northwest Harvest. For medical experience,I volunteer in Day Surg (roughly have 100 hours) and Telemetry (about 250 hours), CNA training (50 hours of clinicals), HIV/AIDS education and CPR/AED certification. I work part time but I dont have a child and I'm 18 so I definitely don't have as many responsibilities. Props to you! It must be hard juggling so many things.
