UW BSN Fall 2011

I am planning on applying this year for Fall 2011 BSN at UW, although I doubt I'll be competitive due to my lack of healthcare experience. I'll have a bit over 100 hours by the time the application is due, but in more than one setting. I'm sort of just planning to go through the motions this year so I know what to expect the following year. Also A&P is kicking my butt this quarter so I probably won't end up with an A :( . Anyone else applying?

Yes they require High School transcripts to prove that you have the "essential qualifications" in basic disciplines, English, Math, Science, etc....getting everything in order can be such a hassle! But it will be worth it in the end I know! Although I'm not sure that's required of you since you have a prior degree, but since I assume you still have to apply as a "transfer" applicant the same rules probably apply.

So does the two terms of foreign language count towards admission into the nursing program or just the college in general? I have 3.95 gpa and am getting my CNA licence so I can get hands on experience but French is kicking my but, I have a c+ or b- which is bringing down my overall gpa. I still need to complete a math other than statistics which will probably be logic or business calculus.

go to bsn pre-req chart it shows exactly which courses are used to create a score that is used to determine your grade competitiveness to the nursing program.

Hi I am Sonam nd I will be applying to UW BSN program this for fall 2011. I am kind nervous. I have not even started on application due to my class load this quarter.

Also i dont know if any of heard of NursingCas. its new program where u just have one application nd can apply for multiple school at same time. Washington is not part of it yet. But i think its good.

Hey everyone! Schools out for Christmas break so I finally have time to reply! How are the applications coming along? I have started my outlines for the essays and now that I should have some free time after work, I hope to finish them soon so I can have friends read/critique them . Did anyone go to an info session? I was hoping that they would update the website with a new recorded one from this year, but they haven't.

I'm surprised more people aren't posting here. Anyway, I guess we hear this week whether or not we write the proctored essay. How are you holding up Rachel?

Well saying I'm excited for the end of the week is an understatement!:) We'll see what happens...I've been so busy with school and work that time has gone by almost too fast. I'm still working on some other apps as well so that helps. How about you?

I'm staying super busy as well, with work and A/P 2. Last week I had a huge heart/blood vessels practical on Tuesday and then on Thursday the lecture test on the endocrine system, the heart, and blood vessels. It was an intense week, so I pretty much forgot all about UW. This week will be quieter so I bet I'll be frantically checking my email every chance I get. Do you know if they will send anything out before Friday? I might go back through old posts and see when people started getting email invites. This is the only application I submitted for Fall 2011 since I knew it was a long shot anyway. I'll also be applying to Seattle U and my community college for next year.

Well last year it seemed like they sent them out in waves. But I believe no one got an email before the specified day. They had the date set for this Thursday but now it's Friday so I don't think I would worry about checking e-mail until Thursday at the earliest. Let me know when you get an e-mail and what your fate is! I'll be sure to post as well.
