Hello everyone! Since applications will open within the next 2 months for the University of Washington's Accelerated Nursing Program for the Summer of 2018, I figured I would go ahead and start this article to start sharing knowledge and supporting each other through the next 6-12 months of preparation.
I am 35 years old and applying for this program after 18 years in telecom.
I look forward to "meeting" everyone!
Hello! A nursing student friend of mine turned me onto a great website/youtube resource:
RegisteredNursesRN
She walks you though the steps of learning each process, and then there are examples, and you can continue by doing quizzes she has provided.
I also have a book (found on Amazon) called Nursing Math Made Simple that follows the same trajectory. (Explanation, examples, practice opportunities.)
But I prefer the RegisteredNurseRN videos and quizzes.
Good luck! Let's all rock this essay and give them many great applicants to choose from! :)
Another resource for the math questions on the proctored exam: DosageHelp.com - Helping Nursing Students Learn Dosage Calculations
like goal:midwife I have been viewing RegisteredNurseRN and then also using Quizlet for Nursing Math nursing math Study Sets and Flashcards | Quizlet.
Good luck to those who still need to turn in your apps! Looking forward to one more step closer once we get to the proctored essay.
Hey!
So i've been kind of freaking out. I've been trying to turn in my electronic application and I'm opening it on adobe reader but on the GPA section where the last column is supposed to be automatically calculated, mine is completely blank. I don't know what to do. Have other people had problems? Or can someone offer some solutions?
@Cpark96 - are you using a Mac? If so, did you ensure you have the latest version of Adobe? You can uninstall the program and reinstall in to see if that helps.
Mine calculated without any issues on my Mac.
If that doesn't work I would try to reach out to Adrian on Monday for help. Best of luck!

Hi everyone!
Good to see a crew accumulating here for this fall's application!
I'm mid pre-reqs over here, which I'm doing at night while parenting and volunteering two separate places during the day. Lots to juggle but its all nursing school prep so I'm enjoying it.
I haven't started my personal statement yet, but have been keeping notes for a while about things that strike me to talk about, and have several people I trust lined up to read it over before I apply. Currently just dealing with the nuts and bolts parts of the application, and looking forward to delving into the resume and statements soon.
Nice to "meet" you all. :)
