  1. 100% on point. I had an eye doctor when I was 10 years old to try and get rid of a stye that had come out of my eye and deformed the outer surface of my eyelid. He said "there's not much I can do except remove it" and came at my face with a numbing needle. Being the 10 year old I was, I was terrified. He got mad at me saying "well this is the only we can do so just grow up!" When my mom took my side he got irritated with my mom and said "well what else can I do? She (being me) can either grow up and get the injection or grow up with a deformed eye" needless to say... we changed doctors.
  2. Good advice! I try not to focus too much on qualifications & resume. That is very true that getting along with peers is probably very important since each cohort is small. The people accepted this year will be with the same people for 4 years! Quite frankly that was what I found so appealing about Seattle U. They have a great mission statement and small cohorts. All the people who get in clearly embody and identify with their mission statement. Btw if you haven't looked at the mission statement I would highly recommend it! The Jesuit Tradition is all about lifelong learning, questioning known knowledge, academic curiosity, and developing a sense of responsibility to give back to the community. I was wondering if anyone has looked into becoming a traveling nurse practitioner? I would love to hear people's future goals :) let's cheer each other on!
  3. I have my interview this Saturday also! For the FNP track :)
  4. If you don't mind could you tell us what is shown on your app tracker? So my status says: pending faculty review and I have my interview this Saturday. Where did it say on the app tracker that you have access to your acceptance letter?
  5. @T1DnurseG That's awesome!! That must be such a relief. Just out of curiosity, what do you plan to do (post grad) with your degree? :) I was thinking of applying for the AGNP track if I were to possibly open my own nursing home but decided I would rather do the FNP track as it fits better with my, now, current goals!
  6. @Wishful4FNP in preparing for my interview, I'm mainly focusing on what I wrote in my personal statement, and my resume. Just knowing why you want to work as FNP, know your goals, know your personal mission, etc. Plus I think the questions will be different for each applicant since we are all different. Truthfully, I am nervous, but I've already accepted that I can't really "prepare," they will know I'm nervous, and that I can answer their questions to the best of my ability and there's not much else I can do :) Something that has put my mind at ease is knowing that we worked hard. We worked hard in our career, in our academic careers, and we have high aspirations with a want to help others which is why we're applying for this program. I believe in myself that I will get there eventually, and if the outcome of this school is not what I want, then I will continue to believe in myself but also believe that the incoming cohort this year is amazingly qualified and will be great NP's!
  7. @NWguy28 I have my interview this Saturday!
  8. @NWguy28 I was mainly asking just because I wish there was more participation on this forum so we can know where other people are at, share our concerns with each other, etc.
  9. Does anyone know for current UW students if we need to fill out the post-bac form? I was under the impression we do but a fellow student told me that we don't because we can just extend the time we're doing our undergrad at UW?
  10. Does anyone know if there is another group for potential Apni students other than allnurse? I know previous years there have been FB groups made.
  11. Did they tell you we would find out March?
  12. @itme so if all the first wave applicants accept then the spots are filled? Last year I remember reading that they let some applicants know as soon as 3 days after their interview.
  13. Hello! In the email it should say if you can't make it because you're out of state to let them know so they can try and accommodate you. You can request a virtual interview
  14. @Itme does this mean that the "first wave" are almost shoe-ins to get accepted as long as they don't mess up their interview or, for some reason, they don't feel you match with the program? My understanding from reading previous post is people could still get in if you get an interview date as late as March.
