Seattle University APNI Program 2018
100% on point. I had an eye doctor when I was 10 years old to try and get rid of a stye that had come out of my eye and deformed the outer surface of my eyelid. He said "there's not much I can do except remove it" and came at my face with a numbing needle. Being the 10 year old I was, I was terrified. He got mad at me saying "well this is the only we can do so just grow up!" When my mom took my side he got irritated with my mom and said "well what else can I do? She (being me) can either grow up and get the injection or grow up with a deformed eye" needless to say... we changed doctors.

Seattle University APNI Program 2018
Good advice! I try not to focus too much on qualifications & resume. That is very true that getting along with peers is probably very important since each cohort is small. The people accepted this year will be with the same people for 4 years! Quite frankly that was what I found so appealing about Seattle U. They have a great mission statement and small cohorts. All the people who get in clearly embody and identify with their mission statement. Btw if you haven't looked at the mission statement I would highly recommend it! The Jesuit Tradition is all about lifelong learning, questioning known knowledge, academic curiosity, and developing a sense of responsibility to give back to the community. I was wondering if anyone has looked into becoming a traveling nurse practitioner? I would love to hear people's future goals :) let's cheer each other on!

If you don't mind could you tell us what is shown on your app tracker? So my status says: pending faculty review and I have my interview this Saturday. Where did it say on the app tracker that you have access to your acceptance letter?

@T1DnurseG That's awesome!! That must be such a relief. Just out of curiosity, what do you plan to do (post grad) with your degree? :) I was thinking of applying for the AGNP track if I were to possibly open my own nursing home but decided I would rather do the FNP track as it fits better with my, now, current goals!

Seattle University APNI Program 2018
@Wishful4FNP in preparing for my interview, I'm mainly focusing on what I wrote in my personal statement, and my resume. Just knowing why you want to work as FNP, know your goals, know your personal mission, etc. Plus I think the questions will be different for each applicant since we are all different. Truthfully, I am nervous, but I've already accepted that I can't really "prepare," they will know I'm nervous, and that I can answer their questions to the best of my ability and there's not much else I can do :) Something that has put my mind at ease is knowing that we worked hard. We worked hard in our career, in our academic careers, and we have high aspirations with a want to help others which is why we're applying for this program. I believe in myself that I will get there eventually, and if the outcome of this school is not what I want, then I will continue to believe in myself but also believe that the incoming cohort this year is amazingly qualified and will be great NP's!

Seattle University APNI Program 2018
@NWguy28 I was mainly asking just because I wish there was more participation on this forum so we can know where other people are at, share our concerns with each other, etc.

UW BSN 2018
Does anyone know for current UW students if we need to fill out the post-bac form? I was under the impression we do but a fellow student told me that we don't because we can just extend the time we're doing our undergrad at UW?

Seattle University APNI Program 2018
Does anyone know if there is another group for potential Apni students other than allnurse? I know previous years there have been FB groups made.

Did they tell you we would find out March?

Seattle University APNI Program 2018
@itme so if all the first wave applicants accept then the spots are filled? Last year I remember reading that they let some applicants know as soon as 3 days after their interview.

Seattle University APNI Program 2018
Hello! In the email it should say if you can't make it because you're out of state to let them know so they can try and accommodate you. You can request a virtual interview
-
Seattle University APNI Program 2018
@Itme does this mean that the "first wave" are almost shoe-ins to get accepted as long as they don't mess up their interview or, for some reason, they don't feel you match with the program? My understanding from reading previous post is people could still get in if you get an interview date as late as March.

Seattle University APNI Program 2018
Hello! I applied for the FNP track and I just got the e-mail telling me to schedule an interview either February 3 or 10th. From my understanding, of posts from last year, Seattle U sends out letters throughout the month so it could be a while! I'm trying to prepare for my interview but it seems that the questions are both general but specific to you and your passion. Sending good thoughts to everyone!

UW ABSN Summer 2018
So nervous! I was reading previous forums and it seems like about 30-40 people get wasted and last year approximately 20 go off the waiting list and the year before that 25! It was also around Mid December they found out! I'm wishing everyone happy holidays :)

UW ABSN Summer 2018
Is anyone else applying to other colleges? I decided to apply for the Seattle U APNI program but UW doesn't offer physiology lab so I'm going to have to take it at a community college.

UW ABSN Summer 2018
Hey! I got those same answers. Honestly I feel kind of disappointed. I spent too much time trying to figure out what to write I ended up scrambling at the end and got disorganized. I chose #1 because I have no experience with working with homeless people, transgender, or those younger than me but still close in age. I thought that it would teach me how to communicate with someone who has so many barriers and how I can get them to trust me. I tried to talk about how I would try and adapt to their need since they are most likely less trustful of people considering his parents kicked him out and how I need to advocate for him to make sure we don't simply discharge him back on the streets. Quite frankly I'm worried haha. I don't feel very confident since I scrambled last minute and organization is important in these proctored essays. I think I was trying to communicate too much when it only had a 2 page limit which caused me to write really small so my hand definitely cramped up a lot haha. They said they would contact us by email correct? I know In the past they did phone calls but I guess not this year?

UW ABSN Summer 2018
No! Everyone is supposed to participate in the proctored essay there are no call backs like the BSN program
-
UW ABSN Summer 2018
So I figured it out thank you! The grades are now calculated but now I can't sign it or put the date on it if anyone has helpful hints!

UW ABSN Summer 2018
Hey! So i've been kind of freaking out. I've been trying to turn in my electronic application and I'm opening it on adobe reader but on the GPA section where the last column is supposed to be automatically calculated, mine is completely blank. I don't know what to do. Have other people had problems? Or can someone offer some solutions?

UW ABSN Summer 2018
Hello! I am also applying for the ABSN program and I was wondering how people are preparing for the math portion of the proctored essay!
