I don’t recall exactly but I believe it went into the 20s at least. we were a smaller cohort than what they are no entering into the program, and my understanding was that for 2019-2020 the waitlist barely moved. Not sure if this is due to bigger class size or now that the program is only 12 months?

I graduated in August 2019 from the 5 quarter ABSN program - you will need to be available 7 days a week to complete this program, especially now that it is only 4 quarters. For our program first 2 quarters were up to 5 days per week, winter quarter included saturdays, spring quarter was 5 days per week and then senior practicum (summer quarter) we worked our nurses schedules plus had class on tuesdays, so you need to be available all 7 days. I hope this helps! Marin, I just graduated from the ABSN program and would say that it isn't so much about your GPA or hours of experience - though the average pre-req is somewhere in the 3.7 or higher range usually and the volunteer hours is usually in the 650 range. Having said that it is more about what you do with this experience and how you articulate what you know about nursing from these experiences and what you learned from it. Good luck!

Per my instagram feed it looks like BSN announcements went out yesterday so fingers crossed for those of you on the waitlist! This is usually when you see the most movement over the next few weeks as people decide which program to attend.

@nurslady182 - I am in the ABSN cohort ahead of you and the largest movement generally occurs once the BSN cohort is announced which I believe will be next week or so... best of luck!

For following year's applicants I wanted to share our timeline for the more recent steps. We received our program acceptance in mid December, 1-2 emails about compliance items like training and transcripts in the January-February, but really very little communications (most likely due to the BSN applications begin due). Our UW Post baccalaureate application was due 2/15 and we received acceptance on 4/4. Our immunizations were originally due 4/20, but have been pushed to early May. The last date I know right now is our mandatory ABSN orientation is 6/14. If I missed anything that others remember please feel free to add on!

@Carlymarie123 My cumulative GPA was 3.8 with 4.0 prerequisites. I did not have organic chemistry complete prior to applying. I also had about 700 hours as a CNA and volunteer at Harborview. What goal:midwife shared was beautiful advise. In the info session the share they have 2.8-3.9 GPAs and the mean is about 3.5 I believe. They want to see that you improved and that you can display balancing demanding schedules for ABSN specifically. So male sure you fill your schedule and discuss that in your essay and/or display it on the resume. Best of luck next year!

I got the first call at 9:45am and just received the official invitation from Adrian via a call back. So excited to be part of 2018 ABSN! Good luck to those still waiting to hear. He said official emails would go out around 3pm, so there is still time!

I got a phone call but missed it and had to call back and leave a message. Trying not to hyperventilate!! So excited and nervous!

@Cpark96 I am applying to other programs as well, just in case, but I am not applying to Seattle U. My primary desire is the ABSN, but I am also planning to apply to the UW BSN, and a few area colleges/community colleges too. I know how competitive it is so I am planning ahead! I decided against Seattle U since as a post-baccalaureate I couldn't qualify for their regular scholarships which bring it down from the $56K per year. I just couldn't justify that amount of debt. I do have several friends who graduated from SU and loved their program!

I heard them say 171 and I agree with shakethedust that this is less than I thought also. From what I recall seeing from prior years posts, 48 admitted and 30-50 Will male waitlist with usually the first 20ish make it in from the waitlist. So we all have better odds than in prior years with over 200 applicants :)

Ditto on the math answers!! I chose scenario 3 because it was the patient I have the least experience caring for and focused on how this would push me to develop new skills and perspectives. So glad we all are through this final hurdle...and now we wait, but at least we have each other to keep us company.

@calihusky16 if you don't mind sharing what is the name of the loan forgiveness program in WA you found?

@Cpark96 - are you using a Mac? If so, did you ensure you have the latest version of Adobe? You can uninstall the program and reinstall in to see if that helps. Mine calculated without any issues on my Mac. If that doesn't work I would try to reach out to Adrian on Monday for help. Best of luck!
