UTMB Summer 2016

Hey guys! I couldn't find a thread for UTMB Summer 2016 so I decided to make one. I guess because it's a little early since they just open for applications. This is the first time I use NursingCAS so I'm not quite sure how it work yet. If anyone is familiar with NursingCAS, could you please share your experience? I sent in my transcript 3 days ago and right now I'm working on my personal statement. I saw some previous threads where people mentioned about MyStar and supplemental application/document? Is it something you will receive after you submit everything on NursingCAS?

My interview was several weeks ago (11/13) and I am still waiting to hear. It appears that there is much confusion about the actual time frame for providing notifications since different staff members are supplying different information. My interviewer told me that I would have a response before Thanksgiving but when I followed up with the board, she stated that they will interview ALL applicants before extending offers to anyone. She stopped short of telling me when all interviews would be complete and simply told me to watch my email. If you have not already done so, go to the open house offered by the school. They have a lot of information about the school and program but it varies based on semester.

when you say "they will interview ALL applicants," does that mean they're going to interview all who applied or they meant that they're going to finish up interviewing those who were offered an interview before giving out a response?

Her exact verbage was that "ALL applicants would be interviewed..." I'm assuming that based on her response, everyone that completed an application and met the requirements would be offered an interview but she was not very forthcoming with additional details. When I inquired further she simply repeated herself and reminded me to check me email.

Did anyone attend the Open House? If so, do you know how many applicants they are accepting for the summer program? Thanks in advance

I attended the open house and for the summer they are taking approximately 80 applicants.

The person who interviewed me told me that I should hear something in 2-3 weeks. I did my interview on 11/12. I was hoping to hear before Thanksgiving or during the first week of December. I have been accepted to another nursing school but I really want to go to UTMB. Hopefully we all hear something from UTMB soon. I was reading the forum last year for Summer 2015 and their process is very different from ours. It seemed that those who were in the first round of interviews for Summer 2015 all got accepted. They also found out if they were accepted or not before Thanksgiving.

I am so thrilled to say I have also been accepted. When I saw that I was admitted I burst out in tears. This is the third time for me to apply, so I have been waiting for this for some time now. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting.

I'm still undecided as to whether I will accept or decline UTMB.. I got accepted into Texas A&M but wow, after talking to my interviewer and hearing all the amazing things UTMB has to offer I'm really reconsidering my decision to attend Texas A&M.

I would check with previous forums to figure out the question about the check. If you paid the deposit though, you should be fine! Congrats again.
