I'm wondering who applied for the UTMB Summer 2009 semester, and if they have received any news from UTMB. My status says "pending", and all my information was received. I don't know how big the applicant pool is considering the hurricane. I haven't seen any news on here about UTMB recently, so anything is appreciated. Thanks.
If I get anything I will post it on here....I have been waiting for this financial package to show up. I think it's coming by email? She called me today and said she would email me the user id and password that I need, but I still haven't gotten anything. Have fun in Japan! I wish I could go on a vacation....o well. I'm jealous though. Enjoy your trip!!
Thanks Bazooka! Im excited abt the trip..but... there's soooo many things i need to do here before school starts. I can't believe orientation is like 2 wks away! This is crazy, but Im excited! I cant wait til meet all you guys. You know what-- maybe we should all have a name tag with our user id so we know who's who.. hahaha.....
I got my temporary password, but I never got past the downloading part....aparently my vista is causing problems for me...ugh. My husband says he is going to help me later. Well, my password timed out and I will have to call them again. Does it say $14000???? Is that for the summer alone? I thought it would be around $5000 or $6000 according to the charts they have set up on the website. We are only supposed to be enrolled for 14 hrs.
I was able to access the mycitrix, and I have better access to the financial aid portal. I saw that it said estimated cost of tuition $14000, but I am pretty sure that it is for all 4 semesters. Hopefully we only have to pay one semester at a time, but I am going to try to call the financial aid office tomorrow to get some more information.

I've been following this thread for a while now, and need to jump in to ask a question.
I am so excited about orientation! However, I can't determine what I need to purchase before we go. I know that we will need to purchase our PDAs in advance, but what about the other stuff (scrubs, scissors, etc.) I saw that we will get a discount at the book store once we have our badges, so I definately want to wait to get as many discounts as possible. What are you guys gonna do?
I am going to see if I can get the books for a discounted rate on-line through amazon or something (it's probably a good idea to look through them a little before classes start). I got the e-mail from the SON with all the information, and I feel so much better now! Everything is nice and updated! YAY. I don't think I will buy any of the clinical supplies until orientation. I am not sure if the discount is for computer software or supplies in general.
I think I am going to get the itouch for my PDA, and there is a link on the UTMB SON website that has them for a discount.
I just got off the phone with financial aid, and tuition is about $3000 for the summer. Books and supplies add an additional $1100, so about $4100 total. I did my FAFSA and I got a student loan. YAY. She said that if we do get scholarships we can apply them to our student loans and get them paid off faster.
That is awesome! I will call Monday to find out if I am eligable for a loan. Did they say when you will have access to your funds. How will we know if we got a scholarship? Is all this coming in a packet. My husband and I have been calling banks/credit unions trying to determine our options. It would be alot easier if i got a loan through financial aid.

yeah.. im feeling overwhelmed as well... im leaving to japan this sat-18th n coming back on tues- 28th... yeah... that leaves me no time to do anything..i think im going to miss the financial package if it comes in next wk.. darn.. can u guys keep updating everything on the forum?! I dont want to miss anything... Thanks! =)
