UTMB Spring 2018

Hello everyone! I plan on applying to UTMB for Spring 2018 entry and can't find a post on it, so I decided to make one! I am taking my TEAS end of April. I already have a degree from the University of Houston in Health Communication and minor in Nutrition. I am finishing my last two prerequisites (A&P2, Microbiology) right now at a community college. Anyone else looking to apply? Deadline is coming up next month, so I thought it would be awesome to get a group thread going! Would love to hear from others applying!

I feel like all hope is lost for myself when I realized my classes I retook didn't count/weren't verified in time :/

But I am still praying!

Hi all, first time posting here and just skimmed through the whole forum. I submitted my application thru NursingCAS on 4/17. Received notification that my application was complete and given MyStar access on 5/3. I haven't received an email about an interview offer either, but I just contacted the SON to be sure that this email wasn't accidentally passed over (since I normally delete my Spam without really checking it). The admin I spoke to verified that I was not yet sent this email. I asked if she happened to know which "round" of reviewing they are in -- she said that there were no "rounds" and that they go through the applications continually. She explained that approximately only 60 people of the 580 pool have been contacted so far with interviews and/or acceptances. I'm not sure how accurate these numbers were or if I misheard her. I'm not going to throw in the towel with UTMB until/unless I get that denial letter. No matter what happens, just breathe and stay calm. It will all be okay :)

Overall GPA: 3.2 / Science GPA: 3.3

TEAS: 85% (reading: 89 / math: 100 / science: 68 / english: 92)

HESI: 92% (english: 94 / science: 89 / math: 94)

Just a heads up, this week is orientation for those of us who start in the fall next week. Everyone in the admissions office is involved and it is for the BSN, RN to BSN, MSN, FNP, and dnp programs. It is crazy, crazy busy this week and most likely you will not hear back this week so just know that if you aren't hearing this week, it's most likely because they are not even in the office right now.

Nothing I say is official from th university. If you have an interview they carved out time for you.

Hello! First comment on here, but have been following since the beginning! I really appreciate the heads up! I'm still awaiting an interview as well and was frantic since I've heard of no one receiving an invitation this week. I thought surely this week was make it or break it.

@jules81 (or anyone else who may know) I had my interview today and an hour later my mystar changed with my todo list showing what I have left to take. is this significant in any way?

This happened to me as well. I called the SON and they said that it was pretty standard for the transcripts to be processed during this time frame and that it didn't mean anything towards an acceptance/denial. It's just letting me know what needs to be completed before enrollment if I get an acceptance. Hope that helps!

I have heard the exact same thing from Fall applicants. Don't let it get you down!

This might just be a message to jules but chances are fall semester students might not start school this upcoming weekend because of the storm and what not. All of you near the coast or where the storm is gonna hit. Stay safe everyone

This link has the degree plan as advertised on UTMB BSN site. It follows the same classes as the document I got at my interview.
