UTMB Spring 2018

Hello everyone! I plan on applying to UTMB for Spring 2018 entry and can't find a post on it, so I decided to make one! I am taking my TEAS end of April. I already have a degree from the University of Houston in Health Communication and minor in Nutrition. I am finishing my last two prerequisites (A&P2, Microbiology) right now at a community college. Anyone else looking to apply? Deadline is coming up next month, so I thought it would be awesome to get a group thread going! Would love to hear from others applying!

The New Student Guide for Spring 2018 hasn't been posted yet. The Fall 2017 guide is still posted. Here is the link

Probably after next week when the fall semester starts, only thing you have to turn in soon is the stuff you get in your acceptance letter in the mail such as the ada sheet, conditional terms of admission, another sheet for pre-reqs and your bls. You can start on your immunizations as well, I have already submitted all mine, only things you can't do yet are the background checks and urine test until they send out the emails saying you can start registering for appt.

Oh and for the background check if you can answer yes to any of the Texas BON background questions you will have to contact them asap to begin the process of a D.O. ill list it down on the thread for all students to see the eligibility issues

Been convicted of a misdemeanor?

Been convicted of a felony?

Pled nolo contendere, no contest, or guilty?

Received deferred adjudication?

Been placed on community supervision or court-ordered probation, whether or not adjudicated guilty?

Been sentenced to serve jail or prison time or court-ordered confinement?

Been granted pre-trial diversion?

Been arrested or have any pending criminal charges?

Been cited or charged with any violation of the law?

Been subject of a court-martial; Article 15 violation; or received any form of military judgment, punishment, or action?

NOTE: You may only exclude Class C misdemeanor traffic violations or offenses previously disclosed to the Texas Board of Nursing on an initial renewal licensure application.

How do you submit the immunizations and the bls? I have already mailed back the forms that was sent in the mail.

Immunizations have to get this form filled out https://www.utmb.edu/studenthealth/documents/IMM%20Record.pdf

And then you scan your immunization records and upload them with the form and email to the email on the bottom of the immunization form, recommend you email via your utmb email. As for the bls you need to make sure it covers the whole period your in school and that won't be needed until orientation.

Anyone else still not heard anything back yet? I haven't gotten any emails, and my status on mystar hasn't changed.

I haven't heard anything! I don't know what that means...

and the fact that they are accepting waitlist students makes me nervous since I haven't even got an interview.
