UTMB Spring 2018

Published

Hello everyone! I plan on applying to UTMB for Spring 2018 entry and can't find a post on it, so I decided to make one! I am taking my TEAS end of April. I already have a degree from the University of Houston in Health Communication and minor in Nutrition. I am finishing my last two prerequisites (A&P2, Microbiology) right now at a community college. Anyone else looking to apply? Deadline is coming up next month, so I thought it would be awesome to get a group thread going! Would love to hear from others applying!

Does anyone know if we have to get a PC? On the website it says recommended. I have a Mac and have already had trouble trying to access my account using the VPN. Didn't know if anyone else was in a similar situation.

Download chrome or Mozilla that should fix it

Hey all, i was wondering if any of you were able to upload your proof of insurance on the mystar website? When i try to log in to that portal and enter my student id #, and date of birth it tells me i have the wrong password... but i know it is correct. I tried calling but the office was still closed due to Harvey, thanks so much !

I have a mac as well and it absolutely would not work on chrome for me. That may just be my computer though. When I called they said use either mozilla or safari. I have safari and it has been working fine for me.

Make sure you use your given UTMB password for the first VPN login that pops up, then a second login will pop up and you use the passcode off of duo mobile app.

so username, given password

then username, duo passcode (when you click the key next to UTMB it will pop up)

I hope that makes sense. I had a struggle at first but just keep working with it. If it doesn't work call the number in your password set up email and they will help.

Can't do the insurance waiver yet until a certain day, I think those of us have been accepted won't be getting any more emails until near the start of next month, I timed the difference from the start of the fall and compared their handbook to the one online, and doesn't seem like we will be able to do most of the things required of us until the November-December time frame

Yeah chrome doesn't work for me. firefox does but not very well. asking around from people who have already graduated and some of my friends starting in the fall said you dont need a PC.

Idk about everyone but all this waiting to complete the rest of the requirements for school is grueling

I guess that's one silver lining about not hearing back about acceptance, yet. Does anyone know if the admissions department is even back in the office, yet? I interviewed the Wednesday before Harvey and have no idea what to expect as far as waiting time to hear something. I'm sure the storm damage has set them back at least a few weeks. I've been so focused on getting our life back in order that I'm losing track of time anyway.

I haven't heard anything back since my interview either (which was before Harvey and directly before Fall orientation was supposed to begin). I'm sure they are still half out of office. I know they have new Fall students to tend to and trying to handle whatever damages that Harvey left them with. I'm hoping the delay is just that. Best wishes to everyone affected, and hopeful for quick responses to all of us that haven't received an acceptance yet!

I agree, UTMB is all i think about. I completed my BLS course yesterday too, probably a bit early but oh well.

Quick question:

For the immunization records, can we fill them out and have them signed by our doctor or does our doctor have to fill the entire form out?

You can fill it out and they can sign the bottom of the paper, I would say let them do it cause they are the doctor ha...fyi I know it says it on the paper but if the doctor signs it and list his contact information you do not submit any record besides the immunization sheet

Ok thank you so much!
