UTMB Spring 2017

Published

Hello to all! I am applying to UTMB in Galveston for the Spring 2017 start. I have not seen any posts about this particular semester, so I thought I would reach out. Any body applying, gotten information, how was your TEAS test, pre-reqs, etc.?

I look forward to hearing from everyone!

Personally, this is my second degree as I have my first in Business Management & Entrepreneurial Studies. My mom is a nurse and has inspired me in so many ways, and I am excited to see where this journey leads me.

I made an 82.7% on my TEAS V and I am pretty nervous about this as I am not too sure how it compares or what the norm is. I hope everyone is having good luck in their application process and let me know how it is going for ya'll?

Thanks!

Hi everyone! I've been following this thread since the application deadline and figured I should join in the conversation. I submitted my supplemental app on May 31st and am now just waiting. The waiting is the worst! Here's to hoping we hear something about an interview soon!

I finally heard back! I feel like I am a very mediocre applicant, but I got notice for my interview yesterday which I schedule this morning for July 8th. I could have done it sooner, but I wanted to finish my A&P I pre-req so that I could speak to that experience in the interview.

So here is my grades and background.

TEAS V Total = 82.7%

Reading = 83.3%

Math = 86.7%

Science = 79.2%

English = 83.3%

Overall GPA = 3.41 Graduated Cum Laude frm Texas State University with a Degree in Business Management

I am still lacking several pre-requisites

A&P I (currently enrolled)

Sociology (currently enrolled)

Lifespan Development (currently enrolled)

A & P II (fall 2016)

Microbiology (fall 2016)

I submitted my NCAS application and supplemental on the same day, May 16th and got the MyStar login on May 18th.

Hope this helps shed some light on timeline! :)

Good luck everybody!

Congratulations!! Yaaaayy!! Good luck on the interview! As for me, I submitted my NCAS application on May 7th and submitted my supplemental app on May 9th. Still haven't heard anything. I feel like I'm a mediocre applicant as well, my GPA is not too great, so I don't think they will have me as a priority for interviews. Although I have 6 years of experience being a registered medical assistant, IDK if that will help me.

I have applied at University of Houston for the BS Economics program and I am currently working on my pre-reqs at HCC for the Electrical Engineering program but I want to switch because engineering is just toooooo hard for me. Anyways, good luck to all of us!! Keep us posted of any interview invites and acceptances/denials.

So, at open house they said that they review applications as they get them.

I applied April 15th and was offered an interview first week of June. They send an email asking you to call to schedule your interview. I was actually able to select a 30 min slot, Mon-Fri, over a three week span.

So, I called today and spoke with SON admissions staff. Those of you, like me, that haven't received a interview request, don't worry! They said they will still be sending them out for the next 4-6 weeks.

Thank you for sharing, Dani! I applied for Spring 2017 as well and have not heard anything back yet. This makes me feel a little less anxious. Fingers crossed we all get contacted for interviews!

I interviewed during the 6/8-6/21. Has anyone from this section of interviews heard back? My interviewer was pretty vague about when they would respond and I have been compulsively checking MyStar waiting for a decision.

Hello everyone, I've been following this thread for a few weeks now and thought I would finally post. I originally applied for fall 2016, I got through the interview part and eventually got waitlisted. I reapplied for spring 2017 on May 30th and got an email and a phone call from Irma Garcia from admissions on June 13th. I had my interview a couple of days ago on June 17th and now the waiting processing begins, hopefully this time it ends with a better outcome! And just to let y'all know.... the spring application processing seems to be going A LOT faster than the fall so just hang in there.

So, I'm guessing from the disproportionate number of views to comments that no one has heard anything yet?

I am still here...waiting... :)

I also haven't heard anything yet. From the past posts it looked like everything happen on Friday's I think it said every other Friday they meet and make admission decisions so hopefully this Friday some people hear something!

I'm still waiting too...
