UTMB Spring 2012

Hey Guys!

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for all UTMB Galveston's Spring 2012 traditional bsn applicants. Have you all started to apply yet or at least looked at the application? What do you think? How are your personal statements/testing going? If you guys have anything worth discussing please post and good luck to all!

DLT said some applicants receive two interviews, but she wouldn't answer why. Me personally i haven't heard of such a thing.

I may be in the same boat as you. I called to find out what the status was because I was seeing some other applicants for the Bacc2 had already been interviewing and gotten email invites. I was told that I was not going to be considered for the Bacc2 and instead was still being considered for the traditional program??? I did not apply to the traditional program. I guess they pass your file around to the best place they think you will fit?

They don't pass your file around per se. The only time this will happen is if you are not accepted into the Bacc2, the school will automatically consider your application for the Traditional BSN. Needless to say, you're still competing against the rest of the Traditional applicants. If you're accepted, you'll have the option to enroll in the Traditional BSN program.

Can you give the initials of the person that told you that?

I was told by D.L.T that if you apply for the Bacc2 and are not initially accepted that you will automatically be considered for the traditional program.... This was a question that was asked at the open house I went to in May.

hello guys am new to this...but i have reading your post...anyways i wanted to say that i got interview on September 9th...yes over a month ago..i havent heard anything from them....i talk to tiffany and she said we wouldnt find out anything about acceptance letters till end of october...also she said that september 9th was the last time they interview and that they were going to start back up again in oct,,,,dont know if this in true

so my interview is thursday at 10:30 ...one of my friends did so well that she was automatically accepted with no interview ..... this is an extremely rare case.... but this girl is beyond brillant and i am not surprised :) way to go girl!!!!! i just hope they accepted a few normal people like me!!!

That is awesome...i do know that some people get automatically in..others are based on interview....but just keep us posted if youy hear anything else :)

ok i def. will ..... she was freaking out because i told her i got an interview email and she didnt ..... little did she know god had other plans for her :)......... best luck to everyone ....i know this process is very stressful but it will all workout in the end :)

oh wow...was that for the accelerated or traditional bsn program?

traditional bsn..... but she has a 4.0 and received 96% on the teas..... if anybody deserves to get in she does :)

D.L.T talked about the bypassing of interviews in rare cases like this.... Must have a 4.0 gpa and 95% or higher on the Teas V and ZERO withdrawals from courses on record.

Wish I hadn't made so many mistakes out of high school :(

My interview is at 9am in the morning and I am SUPER nervous. I just know I am NOT going to get ANY sleep tonight....
