Hey guys Im making this thread so all of the applicants for UTMB Spring 2010 can follow each other through the process and help each other out! The application deadline is coming up soon! Goodluck to all!:nuke: I know they are only exepting 60 for the spring.
congrats ms_sealy
i still haven't heard anything from utmb i am keeping my hopes up until this evening. if i don't hear from them i will call monday and just ask if they are going to consider me. if not, i will just prepare for the entrance exams and prepare to apply to as many schools as possible for the fall. rejection is a hard pill to swallow but it may also be a sign that now is not my time.
i know that they will accept you ms_sealy and jazzy i would love to be in your study group if given the opportunity to. you guys are fabulous!
everyone here is fabulous :redpinkhe
It is getting SO real! I just want the OPPORTUNITY to interview!!!! I'm not going to let this get me down though. God has a plan and it's in his control! I've done the best I can do so I've done my part! If it's meant to be, it'll be, if not I have faith that another door will open!
Congrats again Ms Sealy. Please keep us posted on your interview time and how it all goes! I'm excited for you! I'm happy to know ONE of us is getting to interview!!!!
Congrats Alyssa. Kinda hard to say what to do...Even though you got an invite to UTMB it doesn't ensure you'll get in...either way you'll open a spot for another potential hopefull! My mother in law went to TWU for her BSN and UTMB for her NP. She really liked both schools! Tough decision! Good luck!!!!
I know i just don't know if i should even go to waste my time and take someone else's opportunity if i know i may not accept the offer if i get it. I just don't know much about either schools but i do know that TWU is alot more convenient for me and i already got awarded a loan from them. what would you do???????????

PA school is ONLY two years and they do the same clinicals as the medical students. It's an advantage that the Nurse Practitioner school doesn't have b/c you have a "specialty" area (geri, family...etc). PLUS the pay for PA's is great. I have 4 friends that I went to school with that are in medical school and ALL have said it's just not worth it anymore to go to medical school. The pay (unless you're in surgery, cardio, anesthesiology) is just not worth it versus the schooling. When you consider your bachelors, plus 4 years of medical, then at least a 2 yr residency then a fellowship???? for maybe 150-200k. I'd much rather do a 2yr PA school and be sitting happy at 80-90k a year.
Ultimately my dream is to do my BSN then work ICU for a few years and go back for CRNA. I want to have a challenge. I love the business side of medicine and I have a natural knack for it, but I MISS the clinical side and my patients!!!!! Sitting behind a desk all day crunching numbers just isn't cutting it! But at least I'm in the field I love.
I agree Toasterbell, I've been in college (total combined) for 7 years...I love it...but I just want to do something with it for a change!!!
