hey guys!!!!!!! Hope everyone had an awesome holiday!!! I went yesterday to get my Tetorifice shot which has left me in serious pain and i normally dont whine about shots or blood AT ALL. The nurse said this is going to leave your arm sore for a fews days I said "yeah yeah" boy she was right. Its all knotted underneath the skin like someone slugged me. OK I had the TB done and my first Hep B done again since I did my first shot 10 yrs ago and couldnt tell you who gave it to me so my Dr. said lets just start over. I also had all my titers done too. What a relief to have it all done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cant wait to see my bill :) Anyway...did anyone ever find out how much tuition will be for our first semester? I am curious so I can start getting my money in order. i am really excited to meet all of you

Well turns out when I went yesterday all they could do was my TB test because it was just a lab nurse. I have to go see a physician tomorrow after my LAST ANATOMY LAB EXAM :) and get my titers drawn, my tetorifice shot AND my H1N1 shot. They are now requiring the shot if you interact with patients (which I'm assuming we will be since we have one clinical our first semester)...or else you have to wear a face mask lol...and I don't wanna look silly. So this stress is almost as bad as the stress of waiting!! My friend from highschool has now backed out of our living arrangement, so I'm desperately trying to find a place to live in League City and trying to get that done ASAP! I need to figure out tuition and books and fees and figure out a payment plan for all of that, get my PDA and software put on it, buy my supplies...it's like the list is never ending and we only have a month. I guess I'm just going to put everything on the back burner until finals are over. One more week :)

do any of you know which textbooks are really required/necessary to buy?

i've looked up our classes, or expected classes (using the fall 2009 curriculum), and used the textbook finder thing on utmb's website.

these are the books that they have listed for this spring 2010 semester for the classes: introduction to the profession, health assessment, essentials of care - adult i, and concepts of patho/pharm.

i estimated the total to be just under 900 with taxes and all. i'm sure it will be cheaper if you can find them online, but this is the raw total right now just for books.

lol rocketsson! when are you gonna tell use how "easy" the first semester is gonna be?

i don't know what books we need yet, but i don't think we will use them all.

i'm still waiting for them to enroll us in classes so we can get the grants in place to buy the books.
