The application process has just gotten under way for UTMB spring admission. Has anyone taken the TEAS tests? Any helpful hints on getting a high score?
I live in League City and was accepted to both UTMB and UTHSC. One of the biggest factors for me was commuting but worse of all traffic. Heading towards Galveston on I-45 South is not that bad compared to driving north on I-45. The parking cost at UTMB is no brainer with the added convenience of having the parking garage next to the school. Yes, most people go to Galveston in the summer but traffic is not that bad at all and it doesn't compare to the traffic in Houston.
I wAnt an email invite so badly .. I can't refresh my email enough. I'm almost depressed. This will be my third Time applying. I guess what's meant to be will be. On with my day. I really hope the lady I talked to was not trying to give me false hope by telling me I will receive an email.
I'm not alone then. I also had my interview on Oct 25th. To my understanding, at least one person has received an offer of admission. You can check the posts from this week to see that info. Please let us know if you had an interview on Fri 25th and whether or not you have heard back from UTMB. Let's stay positive.
I am not able to find my shot records and have to I get a titer to prove that I've had my immunizations. Is anyone else in the same boat as me? I'm worried that I missed the deadline and it's going to prevent me from being able to register. I haven't accepted my offer yet because I am still waiting to hear from UT health. I'm hoping it won't be an issue if I get them before orientation. Does anyone else have any info on this?
kk2014, I was interviewed on Friday, October 25th, and was accepted on Monday, October 28th. I was a bit intimidated at the first but the lady that interviewed me seemed very enlightened to what I had to say. I heard the admissions committee gets together once a week. Hopefully you'll hear something next week!
llucas11, I faxed my immunization records yesterday in the morning and was sent an email letting me know they received them. Also to those who don't know, you must have a titer on your Hep B after your series and have a TB skin test within 6 months. I had to get all of those done this week.

I think that the commute issue is really dependent on the person doing the driving. I live in the Sheldon/South Houston area and if I am accepted I will also be commuting. It was only about an 50 minute drive in the rain yesterday. But commuting for me is not an issue. I am used to commuting. Some may not want to drive that distance for good reasons, but it doesn't bother me. Like others on this forum, I have a family as well to take care of (fiancée who works in the oil field, my furbaby, and 3 soon to be step children that are here twice a month). I would love to move closer but it is not an option for me. As far as late night study groups, I'm sure I'll meet more than enough people that live close enough that will let me crash on their couch or something. And there is always a hotel room (it is not cost effective, but an option on those big test days). Those are just my thoughts!
Good luck to all of those that have upcoming interviews and to those that are still waiting to hear back after their interview, like me:)
