UTMB Spring 2014 Applicants

Published

The application process has just gotten under way for UTMB spring admission. Has anyone taken the TEAS tests? Any helpful hints on getting a high score?

When is it? If I'm not working I will most likely go! I hope I hear something soon!

UTHSC information session is on November 7th, from 9:30 to 11:00 am.

UTMB also has an open house on November 9th, from 9am to 12pm.

I plan to attend both to get more information about their programs. ;)

Do you know if we have to have a flu shot for either schools?

Mahumaamir, how did you know that you had a good chance of getting in? Did you specifically ask her what your chances were? Thank you!

She told me that they were only interviewing 132 people and there were 120 spots. So if you get an interview, you have a pretty good chance. She also straight up told me at the interview that she was sure I would get in. 2 days later I did :]

Do you know if we have to have a flu shot for either schools?

Yes, you must have your 2014 flu shot.

That's what I thought....ugh I've never had one before :/

I got my flu shot yesterday! I might go to the Nov 9 open house. I'm not sure yet!

I just got off the phone with student health, flu shots are not required before orientation. It's mainly for clinical, so it's up to you if you want to get it before orientation. But you have to get it before being allowed on site for clinicals.

Has anyone purchased scrubs or know where to do so?

Did y'all bring anything with you into the interview?

Specializes in Emergency Medicine.

Hi all! Just got back from my interview! Those with upcoming interviews, do not stress! Like all of the previous posts have said it is a very laid back interview. My interviewer was one of the clinical instructors and she was extremely sweet! They just want to get to know you and how you'll fit in their program. And they give you an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have. I feel a lot better after finishing the interview. Good luck to all!

Oh, and I did not bring anything to my interview other than my drivers license and the 4 dollars for the parking token:)

Hi all, I am still in shock that I've received an invitation for an interview scheduled for next week. I seriously thought that I had no chance with this school after being let down in the fall. I've been reading through some of your post and feel very excited for those who have been accepted. Fighting on for those who are still waiting!

Just wondering if anyone has tips on the upcoming interview. Also does anyone know which wave of interviews they are on?

Thanks!
