UTMB Spring 2014 Applicants

Published

The application process has just gotten under way for UTMB spring admission. Has anyone taken the TEAS tests? Any helpful hints on getting a high score?

I made a 71 on my TEAS

Hey guys. I got accepted a few weeks back and finally now following up with all the post. Congrats to all that got in!!!!!! And to all those interviewing I heard they are accepting a majority of the ones they interview. And to all those waiting, hold in there and good luck! Can someone tell me the name for the Facebook group cause I'm having a hard time finding it. And if y'all have any questions feel free to ask. :) I attended the early admission student orientation like two weeks ago.

Btw I find out you don't have to have all the shots in my Nov 1. As long has the have majority of your shot records you're good.

Okay tags were added to the group on facebook. It shouldn't be an issue to locate the group anymore. Make sure you search "utmb son class of 2015" ...it pulls up near the bottom of the page.

Congrats to all the admits! & good luck to everyone waiting to hear back!

Do you have any tips for interviewing? I have my interview on Thursday and would appreciate all the help I can get! Thanks!

I have a 3.2 GPA with a bachelors in health education from A&M and scored a 94 on my TEAS exam (I was invited for an interview last week and am interviewing on Thursday!)

I know its been stated a lot on here, but I believe relaxing during your interview is key. I really do believe in the statement that.. you have already met the requirements for the program they just want to see if you are a good fit for the program. Going into the interview to help calm my nerves I told myself I was already in and I was just going to have a talk with a professor about the actual program, if that helps at all.

That is a great idea. Thank you for your input!

I completely agree with Martha. Be relaxed and calm. Also show passion for the career. Be a peoples person. Just be yourself. From what I've learned from utmb they care more about the personality of the person than the stats. A lot of us got in because of the personal statement. Just be yourself

Mahumaamir, how did you know that you had a good chance of getting in? Did you specifically ask her what your chances were? Thank you!

I'm just interested how detailed were y'all's personal statements? When I first applied I was really worried I didn't give enough information in my statement. I only wrote about a paragraph.

llucas11, my personal statement was short and sweet. By the way, are you going to UTHSC open house next week? I'll be out there to get more info about their Pacesetter program. I'm actually surprised they haven't sent out anything since October 14th, but I'm sure you'll get in.
