UTMB FNP Fall 2015?

Published

Hey all, just thought I start a thread for UTMB fall 2015 FNP Prospects.

I am a current RN working in SA, I actually have applied to UTHSCSA and UTMB. I am in the process of applying to Texas State and Angelo State as well. Don't know which school I'll choose in the end but just seeing if there are any fellow nurses out there in the same application process :)

Jas.

my I just got my acceptance to UTMB today for Fall 2015!! WooHoo! I was accepted to UTA last fall but it was really poor timing for my family (house flooded, move out for 8 months, rebuild, move back in...) and I really preferred UTMB due to class size and location. SO excited that I got in! Congratulations everyone! See you August 24th and 25th at orientation!

BTW...I've been reading through the rather lengthy handbook and cannot find anything about what the FNP (or MSN program in general) students wear for clinicals. Anyone have any info? It does say the BSN students wear the burnt orange scrubs with the longhorn logo but no comment at all for MSN or DNP level students. Probably business dress with some type of lab coat but it would be interesting to know for sure?

Congrats on your acceptance. Like a good number of us we are still waiting... But remaining hopeful! About the scrubs and/or attire I'm sure they will go over that at orientation.

I originally applied for the February start date but was a few days short of the 2 year mark so they accepted me for April. They closed the spring applications fairly quickly after I applied bc of increased amount of applications. Pretty much if you didn't apply by the time they closed it you couldn't apply. I applied in September and glad I did. They had plenty of applicants to choice from and by leaving the application open would have been probably a ridiculous amount of applications to sort through.

Thank you!!! Tell me about it, waiting is definitely for the birds. Schools should really send out all the notices at once instead of having people waiting.I'm praying you here awesome news soon!
