GoodKick01, The UTMB program is considered to be an Online program though my understanding is that you do make a few visits to the campus throughout the program (one is the two day orientation at the beginning - August 24th and 25th for those of us starting this fall) but this is by no means required weekly or even monthly. I believe they attempt to assign your clinical sites as close to your home as they can...I live west of town in Katy, for instance, and would prefer clinical sites on that side of town. I already have several doctors that I work with that have asked if I can do clinicals with them...I have no idea if that will be permitted or not! THOSE are questions I hope will be answered at the orientation in August! While it is very difficult to find a reliable resource for school rankings for FNP programs, I do know that UTMB, consistently ranks in the top 10 in the nation! Since there are as many ranking systems as there are schools out there, I think that speaks pretty highly for the school! Good luck to us all!

BTW...I've been reading through the rather lengthy handbook and cannot find anything about what the FNP (or MSN program in general) students wear for clinicals. Anyone have any info? It does say the BSN students wear the burnt orange scrubs with the longhorn logo but no comment at all for MSN or DNP level students. Probably business dress with some type of lab coat but it would be interesting to know for sure?

my I just got my acceptance to UTMB today for Fall 2015!! WooHoo! I was accepted to UTA last fall but it was really poor timing for my family (house flooded, move out for 8 months, rebuild, move back in...) and I really preferred UTMB due to class size and location. SO excited that I got in! Congratulations everyone! See you August 24th and 25th at orientation!
