UTMB Fall 2010 Application period starts tomorrow Nov. 15, 2009
Who here is applying for it?
Btw, there is the ATI TEAS entrance exam for FALL 2010.
Anyone taken it yet?
I can't seem to find the registration for it in the atitesting.com.
Hey! I hope someone sees this. My application was one of the last to probably get in to UTMB before the deadline and the office of admissions told me it was sent to the committee on March 12. I still have not received a phone call or letter about an interview, is there still hope? I think my friend said that before she was admitted for Fall 2009 she didn't get an interview until May. Is anyone else still waiting?
HawkinsRV- I think I remember you saying that you were in an LVN program 8 years ago? Did you have to submit anything to UTMB from your previous nursing school? I was in the LVN program 8 years ago too but did not send anything to UTMB. Just trying to narrow down why I didn't get an interview
Thanks!
I was told there would only be 2 interview dates with a few acceptions...and this was the 2nd date! And to those that were told 2-3 weeks before you hear... It was only a week for us that were in the 1st session to get our letters!!! Good luck to all of you... Anyone else know where they are taking their CPR training?

You must be thinking of someone else... Eight years ago I was finishing middle school . I did apply to a LVN program several semesters ago, but all of the slots had been filled. I was offered a place in the following semester, but I was only a few semesters from being able to apply to a BSN program, so I declined to focus on my BSN pre-reqs.
Honestly, I was completely stunned to receive an interview invite. My grades weren't great (if I remember correctly, yours were better .) I feel like I wrote a good essay explaining that, though: Long story. Essentially, my mother had dementia while I was growing up, she gave away all of my college fund to her drunken ex-boyfriend who took advantage of her condition, I found out a few months before classes started and had to get a series of demanding jobs to pay for college. Lots of these jobs made me have a hard time in school. And some of the jobs I've had may have helped my application, too. I spent a year as an AmeriCorps volunteer, I got my CNA license and worked as a caregiver for a boy with disabilities, and now I work in a critical care unit at a hospital here in Austin.
I hope what I've said is in some way helpful to you! Stay positive about UT Houston! I'm really rooting for you (and everyone else here. :))
Hopes this makes some of you feel more at ease...My GPA is pretty good but not over a 3.5.. I scored in the 96% on my TEAS.. had no F's or W's... what i feel got me my interview was my letter...I graduated early from highschool, got 42 hours of pre-reqs done in 1 year and am only 18... but what i feel got me in was my interview.. you just have to go in there relaxed and blow them away with you confidence. I don't feel the just want oustanding smart people they want well rounded people who and strong enough to get through the program.. i hope all of you anxiously waiting get your interview letters very soon!
Thanks for the response Hawkins and congratulations on your acceptance. I know you deserve it after all that! Crossing my fingers with UT Houston.
For all those who have not received anything from UTMB- I have 2 friends who applied to UTMB with a 3.9 and a 4.0. Neither of them has heard anything. One of them became proactive last week and called Utmb. She was told that there was a problem receiving some paper work but the problem was corrected. If you haven't gotten a rejection letter you're still in the running!

So I just got home from my interview today. I think it went well, and my interviewer said that I was a great candidate. I wish she would have said something like "you are a shoe in" lol! I was kinda hoping to see the dean, but no such luck.
I was told we would know something in 3 weeks, someone else was told 2 weeks... so now we wait.
It was nice to get to put some faces to the names on here. (and I promise my voice is not so deap when Im not sick ;0) Hope everyone's interview went well.
