UTMB Fall 2021

Published

Hi everyone! I haven't seen a topic for UTMB's Fall 2021 BSN admission cycle. What are your stats? I will post mine below.

TEAS: 88.7

Science GPA: 3.5

Pre-Req GPA: 3.7

Overall: ~3.7

I have worked as a patient care tech at Baylor Scott & White since August 2020.

It’s cool no worries, Overall was a 3.6 science was a 3.4 and my TEAS was a 76 (now improved haha).

I’m not sure if anyone has gotten numbers yet for this class, but last semester we had over 1500 people apply and obviously the odds weren’t in anyone’s favor because it was literally the best of the best.

You got this! One of my friends applied to UTMB three times, then was accepted on the third try. I also heard that the past two semesters had record numbers of applicants.

Also, did they inform you that you weren't admitted? Did you receive an email or letter? I am not so sure I will be admitted for Fall and am trying to be realistic. I'll probably apply for Spring 2022 as well since that application is about to open!

Thanks! We’re literally all in it together. For the admission decision it was via email but sent in waves. So about 50 people would get it say 10 AM, next 50, 11 AM and so on. Those who were accepted had their active app still on their mystar when everyone else’s disappeared.

I have a question - all of my transcripts were received about a week ago and my application read “complete” and I assume it’s in the que to be verified. As long as all of your transcripts are received by nursing CAS by the deadline we are good, right? It’s probably taking a while to verify my app because I have 4 different transcripts haha

Edit: as soon as I posted this comment I got an email that my app was verified! LOL

I'm pretty sure all transcripts and the application has to be in the "verified" stage by the program deadline in order for the school to include it with the other applications but I would double check that. You can see the status of every program application on nursingcas under the "status" tab on the far right! Just saw your edited comment yay you're verified!! I was gonna say it usually doesn't take too long ?

Hey guys!

I'm applying to UTMB this fall. My stats are

TEAS: 92 (science being my highest score of a 97.9)

GPA: 3.76

Volunteer experience: volunteering at various clinics/hospitals 1,000+ hours

Shadow experience: a little above 980 hours shadowing a FNP

Wow! Your stats are amazing.

Do you mind if I ask how you studied for the TEAS?

How long does it take to get your MyStar login after sending in the supplemental application?

It took about 2 days I think

Hi! for science I ended up watching videos for the individual body systems on a Youtube channel called "physiology for students" I ended up reaching out to the professor that makes those videos and actually ended up getting all of her powerpoints! I can share them with you. I also watched/followed along with Science with Suzanna on Youtube! So for example: I would watch the cardiovascular system videos on the physiology for students channel and follow along with her powerpoints. Then, I would review with Science with Suzanna since she basically summarizes everything really well. I also used Nurse Hub and the TEAS mastery app which was really helpful!

Hi everyone!

Application for this cycle is officially closed and today begins the official waiting game! I have been reading so many of these posts and its insane how crazy competitive it is to get into nursing school. Any health program in general. However, I feel like Texas schools have really good applicants in general which makes competition even more fierce. Hopefully, we hear back soon sometime in March if the timeline mimics last years applicants. I know we are anxious to hear back, but we can take solace that we are all in this together now! I wish everyone the best of luck and look forward to continue chatting with all of y'all throughout this whole process!

Hi,

I still haven't received a supplemental application and Im so so worried about it. Everything is in and my application says complete, am I okay? I just emailed someone at UTMB to double check but I thought I would ask here too incase anyone was in the same boat!

Goodluck to everyone applying!
