Hey y'all! I will be applying for UTMB SON for fall 2020! I couldn't find a forum for it, so I decided to start one! It is a little early but many of you know it take forever to gather everything needed for the application! Please post all of your questions, stats, etc. SO excited to apply in November!
I can't believe it, but I got accepted! I think it had a lot to do with my personal statement because my stats are otherwise not great.
Overall GPA: 3.35
Nursing GPA: 3.5ish
TEAS: 89.3 (91.5 Reading, 96.9 Math, 78.7 Science, 91.7 English; for reference, I still had not taken A&P 2 or Micro ?)
Congratulations to everyone accepted, and good luck to those waiting!

CONGRATS to everyone accepted, and good luck to those waiting!
I feel like it’s all about the TEAS! Because my GPA wasn’t great either but I had an 88.7 TEAS.
I just got my acceptance email!! Congratulations to everyone who got in!!?
Overall GPA: 3.7
Science GPA: 3.7 (not including Micro-in progress)
TEAS: 85%
I don't have any experience in the healthcare field other than working in an optometry office for a short time. I have a B.S. in Psychology. Not sure if having a Bachelors degree made any difference in my application. Also, fingers crossed for those who are still waiting on their acceptances!
Hey y’all! I got in this afternoon. I’m so happy and started crying!! My stats were 4.0 overall GPA, 4.0 Science GPA, 88.2% TEAS (I got a 76 on the science section), no previous degree, no hospital experience, 1 year at UH, 1 year at HCC. Best of luck to everyone and stay healthy and safe!
Hello! I also got accepted and I’m crying. :’)
My stats weren’t the best but here are estimates:
Overall GPA: 3.65ish
Science GPA: 3.5ish
TEAS: 87.5
I also did not have much health care experience because I worked a lot. I just volunteered here and there. I think the personal statement carries most weight because they no longer do interviews. Shameless advertising but if anyone has any specific questions, I have a nursing instagram called: @TheRoadtoRN! I can hopefully answer your questions directly there.
Congratulations to everyone who also got accepted!

For those of you who got accepted, do you mind me asking your stats?
