Hey y'all! I will be applying for UTMB SON for fall 2020! I couldn't find a forum for it, so I decided to start one! It is a little early but many of you know it take forever to gather everything needed for the application! Please post all of your questions, stats, etc. SO excited to apply in November!

I’m a student athlete (D1) who also worked all year so having perfect grades and internships was not the case for me. With regular gpa and science gpa being 3.01 and making a 75% on my TEAS; what would be my chances of getting in?
According to their website, on average they receive 858 applications and accept 130 applicants. This would mean their average rate is around 15%, which is super scary! However, I have heard that they definitely take personal statements into account more than most other schools. I’d say that you definitely have a chance if you explained your circumstances in your personal statement. ?

I was taken off the waitlist for the Summer recently and my stats were 3.25 science GPA, 3.5 Overall, 82 TEAS, and lots of healthcare experience! I would say they take into account your personal statement too! Hope this helps and Good Luck everyone!

What type of healthcare experience did you have, if you don't mind me asking?

Hello, Mine said University Park for UH main campus. "Main campus" is not it's official name but they probably did that to differentiate between all the locations.
