The UTMB Fall 2019 application opens soon on November 15! Have you started on your essay or the TEAS preparation yet? I am so excited and nervous at the same time and have been stalking past threads on AllNurses.
Currently taking AP I and Microbiology and will be taking AP II in the Spring. I hope to take the TEAS by the end of December.
Please feel free to discuss your experience, stats, comments, etc.
Good luck to all of us! :)

Just want to make sure that we supposed to received a blue postcard a lot later on right ?
I received 2 blue postcards in a mail, and I want to make sure its not for UTMB as I apply to another school as well. Im curious why i'm receiving 2 blue postcards instead of 1.
Do you mind telling us what the postcards say? Is it important stuff we need to turn in? (Just worried bc I think I put my permanent address, not my college one)
@skylara19
On the front page it just says "Criminal Background Check Notice" and your address
On the back page it says "Dear Prospective Nursing Student: The Texas Board of Nursing is in receipt of your Texas Department of Public Safety/FBI Criminal Background Check. Your file is clear. "
"Thank you for your time and cooperation with the Texas Board of Nursing"
It might be a background check clear for other school I applied since no one from UTMB seems to get it yet.
Yes, I need to turn it in to the school (original copy of it)
I'm losing my mind over this darn school. Since y'all are saying the first wave of interview invites should be sent out in the next couple weeks, do y'all think they'll push back the honors application deadline? It's due on April 10th (2 weeks and 1 day), they're late on admissions, and I don't know if I'm even accepted or not.

I really hope so. The honors program is another application and I hope we are given extra time. We are at least a month later than last year's fall applicants.
I'm really wondering what is causing the delay. Did anyone ask about it?

I read through the thread (out of pure anxiety) and everybody is pretty aware of the delay but it doesn't seem like anyone got an answer from UTMB themselves concerning why. They probably had trouble receiving documents from NursingCAS or something, but all I know is that in the next couple of weeks we should be hearing something! I'm just going to write the honors application essay for now, and I'll probably email the person on the application form next week to ask if the deadline will get pushed back.

I look through other threads sometimes and it seems like TWU is also experiencing delays if I'm not wrong. So yeah, it could be a NursingCAS issue.
That's a great idea. I might start brainstorming for the essay soon. Really want to get into the honors program!
Just remember the approximate timeline for SON application decisions is 12-18 weeks after the deadline. We are currently only 10 weeks out. We can't really compare ourselves to last years application cycle because every cycle is different for one reason or another. To my understanding you don't have to know your status before you apply to the honors program. If you want to apply, go ahead and apply!

I'm waiting until a week before the deadline.
