The UTMB Fall 2019 application opens soon on November 15! Have you started on your essay or the TEAS preparation yet? I am so excited and nervous at the same time and have been stalking past threads on AllNurses.
Currently taking AP I and Microbiology and will be taking AP II in the Spring. I hope to take the TEAS by the end of December.
Please feel free to discuss your experience, stats, comments, etc.
Good luck to all of us! :)
I'm a recent grad. I was in the Fall 2017 cohort. I had an interview in March and did not get an acceptance letter until May. There is no consistent method from semester to semester of when notifications go out. People who interview before you may hear back after you, people who interview after you may hear back before you. It depends on a lot of factors, particularly on who interviews you and if they are on the fence between two candidates. When you are notified also varies depending on other professional obligations of members of the committee, exam schedules, graduation schedule, when the entire committee can meet together around teaching schedules, etc. I can attest they do NOT like it when people consistently call and ask when this or that will happen and it may vary depending on who you speak to. This is a very long and emotional process. Preparing yourself for a long wait will make the process a little easier on yourself.

Do you have any tips for interviewing? I understand you can't tell us the questions but if you could provide help on how to prep for it, what to do the day of, etc. that would be tremendous help! ?
Be yourself, be genuine, know your personal statement well. Don’t babble because you’re nervous and it’s okay to ask for time to think of an answer before just blurting out. It’s very comfortable and they are looking to see not only if you fit for the program but if the program is a good fit for you so that there aren’t any surprises during school if possible. Don’t overthink it. Make sure you get your interviewer’s name so that you can send a thank you email within 24 hours of your interview.

@skylara19 Oh I see. I did not take my HESI, so my options kinda limited as well . I would need to work on my HESI if I do not get accepted, so I can have more choices too. ?
