UTMB Fall 2018

Published

Hey! I wanted to make this post because I didn't see a thread for those who are applying to UTMB Galveston Fall 2018. I know application hasn't open yet, but I just took my teas score. I have no idea if it is good enough for UTMB standards. I currently have 40 hours, but by the end of this semester I will have around 53 credit hours. I have no idea how I should even start my personal statement. Would you guys be willing to share your stats? Any questions or comments please feel free to post! :)

My stats are

TEAS:

82% Overall

-Reading: 85.1%

-Math: 87.5%

-Science: 78.7%

-English and Language Use: 75.0%

GPA: 3.9 Overall

Finally got my MYSTAR account set up; just says app is complete. Anyone else's say anything different? I guess now we wait =)

has anybody in this thread applied to SFA too by chance

Once you get the email to make an mySTAR account, do you just sign in and change password?

Yes, you sign in with the userID and the password and then you change the Password.

Does anyone know how they make the decisions regarding who they interview? Do they accept some people and then interview the rest of the applicants? Do they interview all applicants? Or do they accept some, decline some, and then interview the applicants they haven't decided on?

im not positive, but I think they only interview people that they think will be good candidates.

From reading other threads, they interview certain people, not all. I think they interview a mix of strong and weak candidates. I also saw that if you get an interview, that is a good sign of acceptance. There are people that get accepted w/o an interview though. I love the fact that they do interviews because they see you as a person versus just on paper. Not many programs do this anymore. In fact, they are the only program doing them that I have applied to since LVN school 10 years ago!
