UTMB Fall 2017

Hi everyone!

I cannot believe it's actually time for me to apply to nursing school. It seems like I've been working on my pre-reqs forever now and it's finally here. I didn't see any utmb 2017 fall hopefuls yet so I thought I'd create a thread. I'm having one heck of a time with the application process. I'm taking my teas next Wednesday and submitting my application after that. Has anyone sent in their transcripts through nursingCAS yet? Anyone have any pre-reqs they still need to complete? I have one last semester to finish. Good luck to everyone applying this semester!

Mine was over 3 weeks ago. I know others who interviewed before me and still haven't heard anything.

Also, will anyone be at the open house this Friday? I will be attending! :)

Does anyone know the odds of getting into the Honors program? I got the email invitation but I still got like 7 credits to finish in the summer & 11 right now so I don't wanna stress myself trying to get A's if it doesn't matter (min gpa of like 3.7).

How many slots do they give out?

15-17 slots. It's so competitive and you'll have an interview for it too.

Those who got in, how did you guys do with your personal statement? I am applying for Spring and feel like it is not too great :/

Today makes two weeks since my interview. The longer I wait the more I doubt myself even thought I know I shouldn't. I just hate continuing to pay for more applications and transcripts if I'm going to get in and it's not necessary but I can't afford to wait till the last minute either. I know we're all in the same boat and hopefully soon we'll have answers.

I'm applying for Spring 2018, does anyone know if Intro to Chemistry (with lab) counts for the Chem pre-req or does it need to be General Chemistry? I'm taking my prereqs at San Jac.

I took Intro to Chem at my university (Baylor U) and it satisfied my Chemistry pre-req. As long as it has the lab with it, I think you should be fine.
