Hi everyone!
I cannot believe it's actually time for me to apply to nursing school. It seems like I've been working on my pre-reqs forever now and it's finally here. I didn't see any utmb 2017 fall hopefuls yet so I thought I'd create a thread. I'm having one heck of a time with the application process. I'm taking my teas next Wednesday and submitting my application after that. Has anyone sent in their transcripts through nursingCAS yet? Anyone have any pre-reqs they still need to complete? I have one last semester to finish. Good luck to everyone applying this semester!
I'm also waiting and haven't heard a thing yet! Don't worry I'm just as anxious as you are!
Anyone still haven't heard anything back at all (acceptance, interview or denial)?? From reading on here I believe they're about to start the 3rd wave of interviews. Can anyone tell me if they send emails out on a certain day? I'm just getting so anxious and thinking maybe I should begin the Spring 2018 app. Thanks!!
When I went to UTMB for my interview last Friday, I was 3 hours early, so I had a chance to explore campus for the first time ever. Prior to that, I had only been in the SON for an Open House, so I had no clue how the whole campus was in totality.
After walking around and finding my way all around, I can't see why anyone would choose to go anywhere else. It's incredible how integrated the campus is with the hospitals, and just how nice the whole campus is as a whole. It was sunny, 75, breezy, and just perfect.
Plus, it's hard to rival other factors. Over 90% graduation rate, 93-97% NCLEX pass rate, oldest nursing school in Texas, familial feel, integration with local hospitals, clinicals on the island AND the Med Center in Houston, pretty likely careers set up even before graduation, and more..
Can y'all tell I'm a fan?

I agree with you! I actually have several friends (Including an ex) who went/still do go to nursing school there. I have visited many times and fell in Love with it! This is actually my second degree so I am very excited.
Sorry you haven't heard anything If you follow through with it, best of luck to you at your program starting in May!

Baylor's Fastbacc Program. its 12 months in Dallas for 2nd degree students. The orientation is May 4th, Tuition due on the 10th and classes start the 15th so everything is coming up way too quick!
Ahh! I got my first undergrad degree from
Baylor at the Waco campus! I looked into the FastBacc but personally thought it was too fast for the way I study. Congratulations! I know a few people who have done the traditional program and some who have done FastBacc. It's an awesome program & I'm sure you'll love it! Plus, job placement wherever you choose to go after graduation is pretty much a guarantee

I interviewed and still went ahead and filled out my Spring Application just to be on the safe side because it is taking a bit for notifications to go out. Never hurts to go ahead and send it off, better safe than sorry.
