UTMB Fall 2017

Hi everyone!

I cannot believe it's actually time for me to apply to nursing school. It seems like I've been working on my pre-reqs forever now and it's finally here. I didn't see any utmb 2017 fall hopefuls yet so I thought I'd create a thread. I'm having one heck of a time with the application process. I'm taking my teas next Wednesday and submitting my application after that. Has anyone sent in their transcripts through nursingCAS yet? Anyone have any pre-reqs they still need to complete? I have one last semester to finish. Good luck to everyone applying this semester!

I honestly wish they had a system though and if there are people they could automatically eliminate, just doing that, and not waiting so long. I guess I'm just frustrated because it's already April, and I turned my application in before the deadline in January.

There are four waves of interviews which means four rounds of invites. It is possible they have just not gotten to your application yet. They had over 700 people apply and that's just for the BSN program. Keep in mind they have other programs that are also doing admissions. It's a long process and because they are doing due diligence to each applicant it takes some time.

They do send rejections pretty early to those people who do not meet the requirements. But everyone who does, is being considered

I've been checking every hour, and combed through my spam all the way back to Jan 15th to see if there had been anything. I just hope those of us that still haven't heard anything from UTMB, hear really soon.

The professor that interviewed me said that they only interview about 1 in 5 applicants and automatically accept those elligable for the honors program. So if there were about 700 applicants, they'll probably interview around 140 people. And if they accept 132 (from automatic acceptance and interviews), then I think that if you received an interview t to not worry to much!

I was told they interview around 200 applicants every semester!

Am I correct to say that they only send out acceptances on Fridays? From what I've seen, that seems to be the pattern. Correct me if I am wrong.

Anyone still haven't heard anything back at all (acceptance, interview or denial)?? From reading on here I believe they're about to start the 3rd wave of interviews. Can anyone tell me if they send emails out on a certain day? I'm just getting so anxious and thinking maybe I should begin the Spring 2018 app. Thanks!!
