UTMB Fall 2017

Published

Hi everyone!

I cannot believe it's actually time for me to apply to nursing school. It seems like I've been working on my pre-reqs forever now and it's finally here. I didn't see any utmb 2017 fall hopefuls yet so I thought I'd create a thread. I'm having one heck of a time with the application process. I'm taking my teas next Wednesday and submitting my application after that. Has anyone sent in their transcripts through nursingCAS yet? Anyone have any pre-reqs they still need to complete? I have one last semester to finish. Good luck to everyone applying this semester!

It's just nerve-racking seeing that people who interviewed a week after me are getting accepted and I haven't heard anything yet! :sorry:

I honestly don't think they have a specific order they go in! Like how they pick who they sent interview emails to was completely random. So maybe the order they send acceptance emails are random too. I wouldn't be surprised!

That has to be frustrating but try not to fret as hard as that is. ;) I'm checking my emails like 30 times an hour so I know you have to be doing the same. Hang in there and hopefully we will be starting together in August!

When I interviewed on Friday (March 31), they told me 2-4 weeks!

Thanks so much y'all! I really appreciate the support!

I think it depends who you interview with because when I asked Catherine at the beginning of the interview on Thursday she said 2-4 weeks but when I asked my other interviewer she said anywhere from 2-6 so I've been trying to brace myself for the 6 week wait so I don't fret too much. Just think, by the time 6 weeks is up this semester is over! *Trying very, very hard to be positive because internally I am FREAKING OUT!* I tend to be the least confident person in myself when everyone around me is super confident but I was panicked I didn't get an interview (and thought I wouldn't) on the first day the second round of invites went out but I got mine the next day so I'm trying to keep that in mind and have some patience and keep as calm as possible.

@Jules81 I tend to be the least confident person as well. I appreciate your positivity! It eases my mind a bit lol.

I know a lot of those who interviewed between Spring Break and Friday the 24th heard back this past Friday but that does not mean anything. There are lots of interviews going on and we were told it could be as much as six weeks so don't panic if you haven't heard yet. They are taking their time which is hard when you are the one waiting but I like the fact that they are considering each candidate holistically.

I haven't heard anything back yet and I interviewed on the 13th... I don't think several of those who were in the first round of interviews have heard back yet either. But I am really hoping this week we find out if we were accepted.!

I am right there with you. LOL But I feel like being in the first round of interviews is a positive sign right..?

Well hopefully everyone gets some form of communication this week.

I still haven't received any type of email from them. If they just plan to reject me, I wish they would just get over with.

There are four waves of interviews which means four rounds of invites. It is possible they have just not gotten to your application yet. They had over 700 people apply and that's just for the BSN program. Keep in mind they have other programs that are also doing admissions. It's a long process and because they are doing due diligence to each applicant it takes some time.
