I would like to start a thread for UTMB FALL 2014 since there I cannot find one. I am in the process of applying and this is the only school I am applying to. Right now, I just trying to finish my personal statement before I can submit it. I am a bit nervous and excited at the same time. So, how is everyone else doing?
Hey Guys,
I've been stalking these forums for months now and you all have been so helpful with answering questions I've had...and sharing in the same feelings of anxiety during this whole process. I submitted my application on Jan. 10th. I received the MyStar sign up on Jan. 27th. So far, I haven't heard anything and I'm getting so nervous. My overall GPA is low (3.14 according to NursingCAS) due to mistakes I made 7 years ago when I was a young know it all (haha). Since being back at school, I've only received one B, so I feel like I am still kinda competitive. I also scored a 84.7 on the TEAS. I'm currently finishing up my last two classes (A/P II and Intro to Sociology).
I wish the best of luck to all of you! I hope that those of us who have yet to receive an interview invite get one soon! I'm dying to have my chance to explain my personal statement further!!
I have a question for the people who have already had interviews, what kind of questions do they ask? I cannot stop thinking about my interview. I have heard they do ask you about info you put in your personal statement. Is that true?
It's super relaxed and was actually enjoyable. They invited you to an interview for a reason...they see something they like in you so be confident and just relax..you'll do great!!!

Awe, thank you so much @raidergirl95. That made me feel better! I'm glad to hear it is enjoyable. I am looking forward to it!
I think for the honors program they take 5-8 people, but I'm not 100% on that. I asked when I got the invite to apply and she said it wasn't a set amount. As for the traditional program, i think your chances are pretty good if you get an interview. I've seen they interview maybe 150-200 and they take about 120.Congrats to to those getting interview invites!
WOW! 5-8 people? That's crazy! But then again, now that I think about it, I think I did remember seeing somewhere that they take a very small amount of people for that honors program. I'm more nervous about that interview than anything!! Haha.
@jmk31 I have a 3.74 overall GPA and 4.0 science GPA. I made a 80 on my Teas overall and an 84.7 on the science section. The part that I'm nervous about is that I'm still in the process of finishing up my last 16 hours and I'm pretty sure that I'm the only that has this many hours left. I'm trying to get my pre-reqs done in a year and I've done everything I can (summer classes and winter classes) so hopefully they will understand. I also have no work experience but I volunteered at the Brenham State School for about two years so hopefully that looks good. For those of you still waiting on a invite, hang in there we all know exactly how you feel and its still early! For all we know this could be just the second wave of people and there might be many more to come
Hi yall. I just found this page. Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted and/or gotten an interview! I applied back in December........ and I still have not heard anything. I'm starting to get frustrated. Should I call the school and check on my status? I don't think it's possible for them to let someone slip through the cracks, but I am just not sure what to do or if I should just wait it out.
